Try tart cherry juice. It's been known to alleviate gout and is good for any pain caused by inflammation. 2 T. of concentrate per day seems to be the recommended dose. My husband has bad arthritis and we were turned on to this by a lady who claims it cured her fibromyalgia.
We buy it online from King Orchards in Michigan.

I don't know from experience, but I've heard that a high protein/low carb. diet and cutting out the caffeine helps with the flare ups. My mom has it and the doctor told her to do that and she says she feels better since she started that diet. All I know is that the pain will come and go from time to time and that after a while you should be able to know what is going to start a flare up. Keep a journal and write down what you do during the day and what you are feeling. Then you might be able to see a pattern.

I have fibromyalgia, all the medications given to me by rheumatologist have not worked. Ibuprophen works best, I like a nice soft massage on neck & shoulders.
The burning, stabbing, aching debilitating pain seldom goes away entirely.
Just waiting for science to find a good answer.
