It'll stay alot longer than 72 hours. In the old days, you could take stuff that could mask the drug in your urine, but not anymore. They've got more advanced in the testing procedures. An opiate is a downer...not an upper. An upper....such as crack...will increase your metabolism, thus it may only stay in your system 72 hours. But a downer will stay alot longer. I've heard of valium (which is not an opiate) showing positive in the urine after 5 weeks. So to be honest....play it smart and give it 6 weeks. Best of luck to you............

An opiate substance will stay in your system for 72 hours, longer if it used habitually.
