No, you are not overweight. Check out http://www.tbfinc.com/overweight.htm
Not showing you this as a weight loss thing but for the weight chart (quickest one I could find).
I'm 17 year old female and a sophomore in NROTC (Marine Corps Option). We have to keep a certain weight (or they look at our body fat %). I'm 5'5-5'6 but my weight goes between 129-135...depending on my water consumption and amount of time im working out that week. I've got very little body fat though, lots of muscle mass.

You are still within a good weight even by Marine Corps standards so don't listen to the few idiots on here.
If you feel "overweight" start working out...even lightly. If you gain lbs after that chances are its muscle or water--not fat.

depends. do you exercise? do you look good? or poofy? do you stand up straight and proud? or do you slouch? do you dress in pretty clothes that flatter you? or hipster jeans that make it look like you have a beer belly and hip fat? do you have well manicured nails or ghetto nails? do you wear a wee bit of makeup to accent and conceal? or do you go all goth eyed and heavy lipstick?

Overweight or perception of it can be greatly affected by what we wear and how we act. Personally, going by height and weight, I think you probably look great. (I am 5'3" and I look great at 140 - which isn't what I weigh now, but that's another story.) You may be a bit curvier than some of the other kids in your class, but that is a good thing according to all the men I have ever known in my life.

I'd say you may be a little above the target weight thingy that medical people say you should be... but I think you're probably just fine. It's hard to say, cuz muscle weighs more than fat, so for all we know you could have a lot of muscle and not a lot of fat - but assuming you're a bit squishy like me, with some muscle underneath, I'd say 139 isn't bad. Just don't turn anorexic on us and we'll all be happy.

No. I just told a person that was 5'5" and 145 that if I (5'5" and 220) could be 145 again I would feel skeletal, I think you are in the right range for your heighth and age.

Body mass indexes (google) are available, and you can search yahoo!answers. This question comes up multiple times daily.

It's a little over weight. I'd recommend looking into fasting. Which is just lowering the amount of calories you eat... Which isn't unhealthy...

Eat more FIBER, since it will clean out your colon, and shrink your belly.

Also FIBER will make you feel fuller, and fiberous foods have less fat.

You are not over wieght. Your BMI is about 23. 18.5 to 25 is normal. Over 25 is considered overwieght. It is the calculation doctors use, its not completely accurate but a decent predictor. Here is a sight to check it out yourself.
