Lord, the answers here! Let's all play doctor AND guitar teacher too! OK, now I'm a real guitar teacher. But not a doctor. Here's my guitar teacher answer: You sound like you have a pinched nerve in one or more fingers. I'm NOT a doctor, but I've seen this in students and colleauges before. If this is the case, no amount of callouses is going to stop it. If it's that bad,try a NYLON string guitar, not a steel. This won't hurt your fingers so darn much.
If that doesn't work, try the drums, trombone or other instrument with no fingertips involved.

RE:
Why do i get aweful nerve pain in fingertips when practice guitar, but its not just soreness like others have?
I can't quite get into guitar because my fingertip nerves are so hypersensitive, if i make a sudden movement, OUCH, then like for 4 weeks, i cant touch anything and it's aweful. Some people say they have soreness, that would be easy to tolerate but not what i have. Do i just have some sort...

It could be the beginning of carpal tunnel, it might be the way you're holding the guitar, the body is pinching a nerve in your elbow. Either way (and i might be wrong on both counts) you should really see a doctor. It sounds like something that not only isn't going to get better but could get a whole lot worse. As someone who suffers from hypersensitive finger-tips (and toes too) I implore you please, PLEASE have this looked after.

It is probably the way you are holding your guitar. You are putting pressure on the brachial nerve which can cause a lot of pain. I suggest you change the way you hold your guitar. I also suggest you play while sitting or standing up perfectly straight. This is a problem for ALL musicians. You may wish to study the Alexandru method.

Playing Guitar comes with PAIN. You must play everyday regardless of Pain. Once a few Coalesces Build on y our tips of your finger. You will feel much better. Been there done that, and If I stop playing my Guitar the pain Starts back up again.
I hope this helps you. JUST KEEP PLAYING.

You probobly do. That really sucks that you can't play guitar.
Try to go to a doctor and see what you can do about it.
