Go to your local hospital's website. It will have a section on job openings. The departments that seem to have the most rollover are the dietary and housekeeping departments, and we always have openings for CNAs.

best job for someone in college in a hospital setting that doesn't require special training or college courses is Admitting or Transport. I am a nurse extern in trauma icu now but started out as an admitting rep and i loved it.

being an admitting rep involves interviewing patients that come into the hospital to be treated to obtain their personal info-address,employer and isurance. involves calling insurance companies to verify coverage. requires good people skills and basic computer knowledge.

Transport is basically transporting patients around the hospital. Examples are taking a patient from their hospital room to a test, assisting patients to their cars after being discharged, and taking patients to surgery.

being a cna is a good job too but most hospitals require certification and at least one year experience-the course takes about two months to complete (at least in my state of az) and cost for certification was 150.00 here.
