They have proven that the stem cells found in the cords at the time of delivery provide just as much genetic material and supply for testing and research.
I think they should use those cells, and not those they collect from cultured embryos.
There is always a way to test and research that doesnt involve the use of lives without voices. Such as the unborn or animals. I think those should be sought after and explored.

I guess you're talking about stem cell RESEARCH. There's no such thing as stem cell surgery. Also, it's already legal. It has never been illegal. The only reason that this subject was actually highlighted is because Bush denied FURTHER federal funding for the research. That's right, the federal government did, and still does now, fund a lot of the research. Everyone's ignorance on this subject illuminates the spin that the media pulls.

I think you mean stem cell research. I'm okay with expanding research in this area (particularly using stem cells from fetuses that are already going to be destroyed) but this is an area that requires moving forward in a way that is careful and respectful of life.

No I mean i know its for a good cause but in the process your kill a live creature and that's not right they can find a way around doing stem cell research.

its already been passed into law to do the research so it will be legal. just when is up to the scienctists, doctors and the government. its more common in europe than here for meds and discoveries to be used as they are less restricted.
