The big bang was what created the universe. I'll explain it here.
Billions and billions of years ago, the entire universe was just a tiny, compact little ball of dust, that was extremely hot, and constantly spinning. As the ball spun faster, it got hotter and hotter, until it reached the point of nuclear fusion, which created a massive explosion. All the matter in the ball was blown outwards, and eventually formed the planets we know today. The explosion known as the big bang was so powerful, that some scientists think we're still being propelled by it today.

Theologically Logical Theory
Some scientists now seem to suppose
that by proving how it all began,
they can solve all of the mysteries,
but, it appears each question they pose
has more than one answer; the big bang
is the one now that most seems to please.
This universe is expanding out!
Everything's flying further apart!
It started off with one heavy mote!
That's all very well, but I've a doubt,
just bear with me; I'm not very smart.
Try to imagine that we could fly
beyond the limits of all known space
and prove time and space a Mobius strip,
with Earth just hanging there - hanging where?
Then suppose we broke through some weak place
to what's beyond; extended our trip
past some other barrier somewhere
further, and met ourselves face to face;
would we know all? I don't believe so.
If a million zillion miles or more
took us to where we could find no trace
of anything: where next should we go?
Wherever we go there must be more!
The Mobius strip believers tell us
that time and space are twined together,
and that this is all there ever is.
Forgive me; I'm a doubting Thomas:
I think it all goes on for ever,
past the knowledge of the cleverest.
Maybe, when, at the end of it all
we find the universe in Gods' hands,
some scientist will try to explain
with a new theory - they have the gall -
how and when and in what space God stands:
then round and around we'll go again.

why are there so many double standards in religion damnit! Ok so one says .. "False, no proof" .. and thats fine .. but then again, theres no proof that God excists, so therefore it must also be false. Ill tell ya something though .. there is heaps and heaps of evidence to support the theory of evolution, but the ONLY reason it has not been approved as FACT is because all you bible bashers would cause a world war .. and THAT is a FACT my friends!

Its a widely believed theory about a high energy event that led to the creation of all the matter in the Universe.
Scientists have modelled the events back to a fraction of a second after this event, but still have some questions to resolve.
I believe its true but that doesn't make it true.

There is no conclusive proof either way, so no-one can say it's either true or false. Same as religious ideas of how the world began, it's down to a personal belief or faith, not proven fact.

true - there is plenty of proof - galactic redshifts, cosmic microwave background, abundance of light elements etc.
