Well, you are dealling with two different languages here, Greek for the new testament and hebrew for the old. The connotation of the Greek is that Jesus himself ascended himself up into heaven, while the whirlwind took Elijah into heaven. Arguably, if you were to believe that Elijah was literally taken to heaven, his physical body would have been killed along the way as well. Thus, he at that point really wouldn't have been a "man" per se at that point, but a spirit. Its a stretch of an answer, but maybe it helped?

Nice try LOL! Try listing the whole verse. "And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the son of man which is in heaven." Elijah and Jesus were both special men on earth that had their spirits sent here specifically from heaven. Elijah being a prophet and Jesus being the son of God. Verse John 3:12 speaks to you.. and people with your same line of thinking: "If I have told you earthly things, and you believe not, how shall you believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?"

In the language of then, they did not have the word for sky or space , they called them both heaven plus Gods heaven. you must look at the language of the hebrews and the greeks to understand this. Eligah heaven was the sky the first one
the Son of man heaven is Gods heaven the third one
the second heaven of the bible is space

I do believe that the spirit of the second verse you reference means that no man has done it of his own will. No man save Christ has been able to get to heaven on his own.

Elijah was taken up by the whirlwind, sent by God.

well on an off the wall note....maybe there is no god or hevan and they were really aliens...laugh all you want but scientists have discovered in several egyptian tombs writtings that discuss creatures from the heavens in flying ships that were funny looking......with those writting they also found pictures....of which are exactly the same as what people claim to have seen today...how could people 10000yrs ago have imagined and drawn with explicit descriptions the exact same things that poeple claim to have seen today......i dont know maybe it was aliens(it would explain a lot of things throughout history)maybe poeple are just on drugs...either way it seems kinda fishy to me

There are three heavens described in the Bible.

Heaven...where God dwells and only the Son of Man has been there (Jesus)

Heaven is also described as our Universe...where our planets and stars are.

Heaven as the Earth's atmosphere... our sky.

I'm not a religious man, but I think I can speak for the community to say that you are just being annoying. Most people couldn't care less. The others will not be influenced - either they will stay Christian or they will stay atheist. So why bother? You're like a barking dog.

And so I say again.....So, what's your point? And what's an Atheist doing with a Bible, anyway? Try using one in plain English, too, not all of us stick to the King James version.

Not necessarily lies, as the bible is not necessarily facts. Perhaps if you read each in the context they are used in, you will see how they fit in with the particular story being told.
