People do it everyday, knowingly and unknowingly. Does it make it right? Of course not.Eve never attained Divine Wisdom. Only God Himself has Devine Wisdom.
Eve after being sexually seduced by Satan in the role of the Serpent received the knowledge of good and evil, then gave unto her husband. No where does it mention an apple. That's just tradition of men.
Question: Who is the Tree of Life mentioned in the Book of Genesis? Answer: Our Lord Jesus Christ. Staying with this same theme. Who then is the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil? Its the Serpent. Satan himself.
I would suggest that you acquire a good King James Bible and a Strong's Concordance as each word in the Bible is defined in the Strong's breaking it back to the Hebrew or Greek. This is Wisdom, rightly dividing the Word of God.

Greetings: Note that Eve defied God before she took whatever it was that she ate from the tree of knowledge, thereby destroying her innocence and only then in her perhaps not so wise but sinful state, did she share - for how can we have divine wisdom that is born out of disobedience? Did the tree give her wisdom or did the tree take away her purity? God keep you as you seek Hiim and his wisdom.

Eve gained knowledge without the wisdom to use it. It is OBVIOUSLY NOT WISE to defy the will of the creator. We have only to look at our own lives to see the consequences that follow disobedience to God. And everyone has been through that at some point. Some may be too foolish to recognize that truth but even they will have their eyes opened eventually. They will someday soon stand before God and will have no justification for their lives.
There are many intelligent people who are wise in their own eyes and even the eyes of the world, who are also disobedient to God. Doesn't say much for high IQ's when you look at it that way.
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline."--Proverbs 1:7 The word fear here means reverential respect for God, not trembling and cowering, as in a wholesome dread of displeasing Him. The word fool here refers to moral deficiency.
Hence, wisdom is derived from obedience to God not the other way around.

We can not really say what "defying God" means. Bible is there to teach you some fundamental things, but there is a deeper meaning to everything that is said there.
Are you defying him if you get cancer and give into Doctors who want to save your life when God's will (at least looks like it is) is that you dye?
Are you defying him if you divorce a man who was beating you on weekly basis, untill one day he broke your nose, and damaged your kidnies with his legs, and you divorced him? In the eyes of Catholics you are damaged goods. Not because you had a nose surgery and now you can not breath right, or because your kidnies hurt on daily basis, but because you are divorced.
Looks to me like you are one of those who see God as a vengefull God with a beard, judging everyone for an eternity. God is more like Jesus thought us; Love and understand everybody...Why would God want you to live with someone who is abusing you? Why would he want you to cut your life short, lay down and dye, if there is a chance that you can stay on earth and help a couple of people.
The best way to live is to follow no1. single teaching that is found in different words in most of the religions;
Dont't do onto others what you don't want done to you. Everything else is written by people. Why would God ever want 1 man to have 4 wives? Obviously, some horny man wrote that law, and other horney man accepted the law. Or not to eat Pork? God did not say that. PORK HAS NO OTHER PURPOSE on earth than to feed people. The thing is that in old times people did not know that pork has to be thoroughly cooked in order not to get trihinosys.(I appologize for mis speling, spellcheck does not work for some reason)
So, when they realised that they are getting sick, they banned the pork meat. So, is a Muslim person defying God for eating pork?
I hope my answer helped.

I don't think it is possible to defy the will of God . Even though he gave all of free will to make our own choices ... that is only true to a point.......how do we know that god didn't have in his plans eve and adam eating the apples he told them not to eat ? remember ... because of adam and eve's disobedience .. that line now leads all the way down to jesus christ dying on a cross for all of us and being resurrected on third day .. .GOd planned it all out before it all happened .. so in my opinion ... just becuase it looks like someone id defying god's will ... many times .. in the future it turns out that God defied the will of us and others to show his love and his grace... the whole fight between good and evil started long before the time of man .. Lucifer and God are having a disagreement and if you read Job.... you will come to understand that as much as Lucifer wants to be Go,,,, even he knows that he cannot do anything without first getting God's permission to do so ....which means Lucifer has no real power .. which means in reality .. everything he does is according to the will of god even though he seeks to surplant God's will.......

No it is not wise to defy God, but we all do it everyday. Whether it is denying His existence or just driving too fast. But, we all have to remember that God gave us the right to choose and only through those choices do we obtain wisdom.

God gave man and woman free will to make their own decisions, and choose to sin. By untilizing our free will and God given right, are we really defying God's will, or enforcing it?
