First, what you need to do is get your cat to the vets for a proper diagnosis.
Heartworm and lungworm can show the same signs as asthma, the vet will have to do some bloodwork and X-rays.
If it is determined that your cat indeed has asthma the vet will probably put kittie on some corticosteroids such as prednisone, or some other airway relaxers.

The typical treatment is a corticosteroid, and an broncho-dilator. These may be given in pill form, or there is an aerosol mask, called the Aerokat. Ask your vet which is better for your cat.
