Some of these people from New York and Boston down here still speak w/ THICK accents. But not me. The Wisconsin northern type accent goes pretty quick. I am not even sure I want that accent back. It sounded goofy in the first place. Hearing someone from up there talk now sounds weird. Like they are speaking straight out of their nose. I kind of like the very subtle Florida southern drawl.

I agree,New Yorkers are bad,Boston is the worst,I can deal with Wisconsin and those area accents but it does sound like a year round sinus infection they have.I have lived in the south all my life, but yet I have no accent, people sound funny everywhere but up north it gets kind of retarded.Need proof,go to Philly.

Neither good nor bad.

People who adapt quickly to new regional accents often have a good ear for Language, so you might want to work on learning Spanish.

Bad news: you have not lost it, just temporarily gave it up due to your linguistic environment. Good news: Unless you go back you will not get it back.
