When I realized that God was not going to help me I picked myself up and never looked back. My life has been meaningful and successful ever since. My imaginary friends do not take care of my family. I do.

You got that from Book of Opinions Chapter 2 verse 7 I think.
You obviously need to do some reading. There is way too much misinformation here. Go to http://www.biblegateway.com
You can read the actual Bible there in just about any translation you could desire. I recommend the New International Version (NIV) or the New American Standard Bible (NASB) as these are the two most accurate translations from the original texts and languages into modern English. They are both word and thought translations. Start with the book of John, then read Acts, then go back and read Matthew, Mark and Luke.
You need to get the facts straight and the Bible is the only place you are going to do that. Otherwise you are like a person trying to find their way in the dark in an unfamiliar room--you cannot help but stumble.

First, that statement is not scriptural at all!! That is a phrase that some man invented. We must rely on God for everything, He is the door opener, He is the Provider, The Healer, the Deliverer, the changer of the heart. This statement basically says, God depends on us to do the stuff that needs to be done in our life, first, then He will act. God is moved by faith, not by works.
Many people don't realize that that statement is a lie from the devil, it is meant to keep us looking at our abilities, not God, it keeps people from going to God for the Answers to their needs, it keeps them focused on self first then God, it should be God first then self.

I have not read anywhere in any book. god helps anybody.
In Isaiah 9:6-7, it says, Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given. And what is the name of this son? The "Mighty God" in the next verse.
JESUS CHRIST IS: "THE GOD ALMIGHTY"
Isaiah vs 6:
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

It doesn't say that in the Bible. God helps those that do what they are told to do.. or follow instructions..
We need Gods help, he gives us strength, wisdom, and power when we need it. If you are lifting something heavy, he may send a friend to help. When I had car trouble here in Mexico, I got on my knees by the side of the road and prayed and in less than two minutes one of the (green angels) came by and helped me fix my car.. The green angels are tourists guys that patrol here and help anyone to fix their car or run out of gas.. I need God and his help.If you don't want it, just tell him.

God helps those who cannot help themselves. We have to cooperate with the process.

We are all God. We, as a whole, make up god. So, by helping ourselves, we help god, likewise by helping another.

We need god as god needs us. When there's no one to turn to, no one to salvage to, no one to love you, cherish you or respect you. God is there.
Life's lesson: It's better to live your life believing there's god, and die to see there's no god. Then to live your life not believing in god, and die to find out there is.

Comfort?
To be the answer to the questions there are no answers for?
Everyone needs (or doesn't need) God for their own reasons...
the beauty of individuals...
The unique qualities that make each one of us who we are...
To give us faith that there is nothing
WRONG
with us
