How about that hillbilly accent. I've known people from Georgia , they had accent's but NOTHING like Paula. I think she is exagerating the accent. Y'all know what i'm talkin bout? Um doggie's. Payn[ pan], lil [little], oll [oil] and so on and so on.

I'm from the south and when I go up north nobody believes me because I don't have the "southern accent". It depends on where you grew up and how you grew up. She grew up in a small town where the accent will be more prevalent than in a bigger city. And I've known people from Georgia who have just as big as an accent as Paula Deen. The southern drawl still continues today. Listen to a New Yorker or listen to someone from Chicago. Every region has there own accents.

My Aunt is from Savannah. She talks a whole lot like Paula. Even if she does fake it, so what??? All kinds of people on TV are fake. It's the nature of the beast. Just being in front of a camera makes people act all kinds of different. And the accent Paula has isn't a hillbilly accent. If you're truly from the south then you'd know the difference. And yes, get it right...it's DEEN, not DEAN.

Paula Deen isn't phony. I'm from the South as well, but don't necessarily say things the same way she does. Not all Southerners talk alike.

Eh - I LOVE her.
Also, her sons have a new show on the FoodNetwork and they have the same accent, so I doubt she's faking it - plus my history teacher came from Georgia and she talked just like that. It depends on where you're from exactly - I'm sure city people don't all talk like that but probably people in the country.

Have you ever heard anyone from Mississippi talk, you could cut my accent with a knife when I lived there.
I believe she is just a country girl, that has made the best of the only thing she knows how to do and thats cook. Lets face it, us country girls do know how to cook.

I like when she says "alliv oll" (olive oil)
I know she lives in Georgia but I'm not sure she is from there originally.
I also know the 2 things you don't see about her on TV is her bulldog determination and competetive drive.
