Sometimes a cat will sleep in his litter box, because he feels safe there, I know that sound stupid, but I have worked with cats for years and I have had some that would stay in their lb because of different changes. whenever you go to a place like Petsmarts,go to where they are adopting out cats. Alot of them will be laying, or sleeping in the litter box.

he is getting teritorial, i would sugest that you get a second litter box for the other cats to use to avoid any fights, plus he may be a little mad about losing his family jewels.

maybe he is sad, did u move something in the house? cats can be extremely affected by something like this, a friend mooved something in the room her cat stood, and till she didn't move it back, the cat didn't eat and didn't drink water... she almost died(the cat, of course)
