We did... in our minds. Think about the old civilization long long time ago before any of the crazy technology we have today, The world back then must of been the most boring days of man's life and so we started to make up stuff and then it grew popular to believe that god exist.

Please notice that the Creatour, and authour of the Bible, Jehovah God answers this question for us in his very word, the Bible. Consider the fact that God (YHVH) has always existed, there had no begining:

Psalms. 90:2: “Before the mountains themselves were born, or you proceeded to bring forth as with labor pains the earth and the productive land, even from time indefinite to time indefinite you are God.”

Is that reasonable? Our minds cannot fully comprehend it. But that is not a sound reason for rejecting it.

Consider examples: (1) Time. No one can point to a certain moment as the beginning of time. And it is a fact that, even though our lives end, time does not. We do not reject the idea of time because there are aspects of it that we do not fully comprehend. Rather, we regulate our lives by it. (2) Space. Astronomers find no beginning or end to space. The farther they probe into the universe, the more there is. They do not reject what the evidence shows; many refer to space as being infinite. The same principle applies to the existence of God.

Other examples: (1) Astronomers tell us that the heat of the sun at its core is 27,000,000 degrees Fahrenheit (15,000,000° C.). Do we reject that idea because we cannot fully comprehend such intense heat? (2) They tell us that the size of our Milky Way is so great that a beam of light traveling at over 186,000 miles per second (300,000 km/sec) would require 100,000 years to cross it. Do our minds really comprehend such a distance? Yet we accept it because scientific evidence supports it.

Which is more reasonable—that the universe is the product of a living, intelligent Creator? or that it must have arisen simply by chance from a nonliving source without intelligent direction? Some persons adopt the latter viewpoint because to believe otherwise would mean that they would have to acknowledge the existence of a Creator whose qualities they cannot fully comprehend. But it is well known that scientists do not fully comprehend the functioning of the genes that are within living cells and that determine how these cells will grow. Nor do they fully understand the functioning of the human brain. Yet, who would deny that these exist? Should we really expect to understand everything about a Person who is so great that he could bring into existence the universe, with all its intricate design and stupendous size?

Are there sound reasons for believing in God?

Ps. 19:1: “The heavens are declaring the glory of God; and of the work of his hands the expanse is telling.”

Ps. 104:24: “How many your works are, O Jehovah! All of them in wisdom you have made. The earth is full of your productions.”

Rom. 1:20: “His invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made.”

To illustrate: When we see a camera, a radio, or a computer, we readily acknowledge that it must have been produced by an intelligent designer. Would it be reasonable, then, to say that far more complex things—the eye, the ear, and the human brain—did not originate with an intelligent Designer?

This is the question a lot of people get to when wondering about Christianity. The overall answer to the question is, no one created God. I'm not saying that God created himself. God has been around and will be around for eternity. Our human minds cannot comprehend this because to us, there always has to be a beginning and an end to things. God has always been there and there was no beginning or creation of Him.

God created the universe: space time and matter. Since God created the universe, he cannot be bound by his own creation. God therefore cannot be bound by space time or matter, so he is every where at any time. So when God created the universe time came into existance, so there was no time before the universe was created. God supercedes time, so he has always been and always will be in existance.

If He were created, God would not have been God. He is the Creator of everything, so everything but God is Creation and nothing could have created God as He is the Creator of everything

Answer is simple and a no brainer one:
God created everything. TIME was also created by God, the same as matter and energy. You question is related to time.

God is not affected by time so he was not created by anyone not even by his bilievers like some people say.

This question has been answered repeatedly. Like all the previous times it's been answered, it's the same - God was not created. He simply is. Never had a beginning, no end - He just IS.

Why worry about who created God.. Has he not done enough for us?? God was always there, as it says in the Bible you have to have faith like a Child, and if you have faith like a child you dont worry about who created God.

God told us who he is several times in the Bible....He is the Great I AM....The Alpha and The Omega, He is the beginning and the End.

Do you see a circle here? In our natural universe how many circles do you see?

God is infinate and our finite minds and body's cannot fathom the concept of a being like GOD. That's why even Moses when he stood in just the mere passing of GOD in his presence took on a glow for many months and his hair turned white.

God said who he is....now it's up to us to believe.
