Yes you can give benadryl to a cat...the stuff you get at a Vet's office is Diphenhydromean (sp) which is EXACTLY the same as benadryl. Just look at the ingrediants and you'll see its the same. As stated in previous answers call your vet to get the dosage. Benadryl can be given to subdue a cat during trips or for allergies.

the first thing to do get rid of your kitties fleas, advantage or frontline work very well.
The only reason one would use benedryl is because of an allergic reaction.
Fleas are the most common cause of this, suggest you also get your house treated, if kitty has fleas you can bet that they are in the house too.

Yes you can use benedryl to treat kitty one to two mg,s per lb. of kitties weight.

We have given it to Dogs and Cats when they get a Bee Sting or something. Just cut it down some and not give a full human dose.

Be very careful. Ask a vet what a safe dose would be. A normal dose for a human could be more than twice as much as a cat can safely take.

Yes, but be careful that you don't give it to much. Call a local vet to find out how much you need to give your particular cat, They will usually give you that kind of info over the phone.

I just read some of the other answers - IT IS SAFE - you just need to find out how much. I have several pets, and on more than one occasion my vet instructed me to give some to both my dogs and cats.

I really don't know. I gave one to my dog once and it zonked him out for about 5 hours. He just lied around with a sleepy expression. Since cats are smaller in bodymass it might be worse.
