The best all-around shampoo is Suave, because it's cheap and it works well.
My splurge shampoo is Mane 'n' Tail. I buy the stuff that's made for horses. I don't get the "reformulated for humans" crap.

I work 24 hour shifts and need shampoo that lasts for that period of time without making my hair look dull or oily.
I have found the brand Finesse to be the best about keeping my hair silky and shiny without appearing dull, flat, or oily.

I usually buy Tresemme shampoo and conditioner. They were once only offered in salons, and are very affordable.
Pantene is great, too!
Just be sure that whatever you buy is ph balanced.

I like herbal essense.. there are quite a few different fragrances and it leaves your hair shiny. it feels clean not weighed down like some shampoos.
