Dont people know that the Bible didnt just fall out of the sky from Heaven? It wasn't written by God... It was written by men and edited by politicians who used it in order to advance their own political agendas... many scriptures were purposely left out by "scholars" who voted on what should be left in or taken out. How can people really take this book seriously knowing this??? I'm not trying to be controversial or offensive- I actually want a real answer that I can believe... something tells me there isn't one.

I have yet to hear anyone claim that it fell from the sky. Most of us believe that it is the perfect inspired word of God. That is that he guided men on what to write. For those of us who believe and serve him this makes perfect sense. For people who think God is supposed to be there at their beckoned call to serve them this is hard to comprehend. The bible exist to serve God's purpose not man's. Now, mankind has certainly tried to corrupt the bible. They say it says xyz when it really says abc. Some even wrote false gospels which were obviously not inspired by GOD. Because they contradicted the original teachings these false gospels are excluded. This is the odd part. Critics of the bible like the idiots on the Discovery channel or the Jesus Seminar, always treat the false gospels as true but the true gospels as false. They have completely different standards. I think they are most likely trying to sell their books. They come up with a bunch of really foolish criticisms that are easily answered. Problem is on TV they don't answer them. They mislead people by not showing an objective view. Then again why should we expect anything different from the media? You obviously got their opinion, if you want to be truly informed so that you can make an intelligent decision, why don't you consider studying it?

I was taught as a young girl to follow the Bible. Since I trust my grandparents and parents, even after their deaths, there is no other book on the market that speaks the truth. So what if politicians and scholars have left out several of the books, there are still 1,189 chapters in the Bible to be read and to be understood. With all those chapters, man still can not predict when the last day will come. I'm sold on the King James Version of the Holy Bible, no matter who tries to sway me. My faith is of things unseen, my faith is deeper than the oceans.

You asked a question, I give you an answer. I follow the Bible to the best of my ability because, while men did physically write it down, it is the inspired Word of God. The Bible is one of the ways God speaks to me. When I read the Bible, I sit back and think of it as God speaking directly to me. Whether or not men took away from it is of no consequence to me. I believe that God knows what He's doing. Surely, He knew when x, y, or z books were written that they would be taken away in the future. All I can do is go on what information I do have, and I have to say that I am happy with the text that is available to me.

Because the words are just boost you emotion and those words are not live. the Bible is the WORD OF GOD, to know the power, and to know experience what it can do you must believe, and meditate upon it and follow. than you will see what JESUS has spoken is true, that " the one who believe in me will do what am doing and do greater than this"

The words of God's Son are in the bible. Some people rely on earthly knowledge for everything, but Christians choose to put their trust in a higher form of inteligence. Like the Creator of an entire universe for example. Can man do that?

thats certainly what Gods #1 enemy would like you to believe, and with good reason....
the reasons youve stated for reasons not to follow, are commonly viewed just that way, think about it.
spiritual can never be scientifically proven.
trust is an emotion most commonly chosen because of a feeling, intuition, or series of proofs.
when God reveals Himself how do you expect He do it? and why do you expect He do it your way, when you see "natural" and He sees supernatural.
start there, try looking at things from a supernatural perspective. if you truly can not, then you may never understand or believe.
if you can, then you are spiritually open to seeking Spiitual truths, and the rest will begin to reveal itself to you. this is what God wants, He wants you to want to know Him. when you realize there is an earthly battle in progress between He and the enemy, the truth will start there.
so many of the Spiritual (God's) truths are mentioned and accounted for in His word, you must read it to become enlightened, but know, if you do not believe or seek with all your heart, you will not understand.
start with 1 Corinthians, It explains what i am saying: read about the Holy Spirit, Gods Spirit, the way He communicates with His children, and come back for more if you need, or care, im not going anywhere.

Because people are scared of mortality and the fact that we are nothing afterwords except worm-food. The best way to motivate someone or convince someone is through fear so people bought into this nonsense a long time ago and have held on to it for dear life. It is no coincidence that as the human race becomes more intelligent, loyalty to religion and blind faith in it's explanations is steadily decreasing.

if you study & read the bible, it will tell u as well as teach you that the bible was ordained & instructed by god to be written. he was the one & only one who instructed those to write the bible as well as what was to be written.
it's commanded by the lord that no man or no one should add or delete anything in the bible. to add or take away.
it wasn't written personally by god, it was instructed by the lord to be written.
the bible is a gigantic love letter to us all. it's instructions given by the lord for us to follow, live by, teach, preach, to give others hope, joy, peace, mercy & most of all an understanding on salvation-eternal life.
that god sent his only begotten son-jesus christ to die upon that cross for all of us sinners.
read john 3:16 in the bible.
that jesus christ died on the cross for each & everyone of us, he was tortured, mocked, spit upon, a crown of thorns forced into his skull, beaten beyone recognition.
jesus is the way, the truth & the life/light.
read JOhn 14:6
people are always trying to prove the bible wrong. they always want to add, delete or change the bible.
but you can't. everyone wants to prove the bible to be fake, wrong & they just can't. they need jesus & need to get a life , a real life with god.

People follow the bible because they were told too. If ppl contradict anything in it, they are being blasphemous. People are afraid that if they (christians) don't follow it, they will go to "hell". Hell is only a place that christians created so that they could tell "bad people" that if they don't follow this religion, or read the bible they will go there, place of "damnation". Not catholic btw, pagan.

I don't take it seriously, I take it for what it is. Historical fiction. Some facts are right some are FICTION. People are afraid of the unknown so they rely on faith, which is very interesting to me since religion is the root of most wars in history. People are so hypocritical to think their religion is better than someone elses. They really are shallow.
