They can have a ceremony performed and receive a marriage certificate, but if you are asking if they can really be married then the answer is "No".
That's like asking can a circle be a square. It obviously cannot because the definition of a circle precludes if from being a square. It's the same with marriage. Marriage is the union between a man and a woman. Therefore two people of the same sex cannot in truth get married.
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

I think it is allowed in some states, I am not sure which ones though. I am not gay but I hope that the nation opens their mind a little and lets people who want to get married get married.

In some states, they are permitted to have civil unions - but not a full marriage. Additionally, under the Full Faith and Credit Clause, a marriage by a homosexual couple shall not be recognized by any other state (some states, i.e. California and Massachusetts, have recognized gay marriage for only a brief period of time).
In a few other countries (like the Netherlands), homosexual couples are permitted to be married.

Some states allow gay marriage, like in Massacheussets, but most do not have a law permitting it yet. President Bush is trying to make a constitutional amendment against gay marriage for all of America.

Someday all 50 US states will recognize Same Gendered Marriage. Surely by now, even the intellengent people who oppose SGM's can see that the divorce rate that near 50% in the US is clearly no one else's fault but their own.
As for me, I want all the rights, privialges and responsibilities that come with marriage INCLUDING tax benefits, tax filings, property transfers, etc... roughly some 1200 right currently being DENIED to gay's and lesbian couples.

In some places it is legal but this is not merely a legal issue. This is a moral issue and that is why there is so much controversy over it. Morally, it is wrong because God created male and female to be together in marriage and produce a family. God has given us a set of commandments to live by to be a good and upright moral person and as this issue is regarding an immoral act, I say it is immoral and unholy and on those grounds, I condemn the act of gay marriage. Many do disagree with me, but many also agree. What matters most is "What does God say about it".....I prefer to stand up for truth and morality and not side with our societies whims that are making a mockery of our Christian beliefs. I call it as I see it and will risk the judgement of many who want to call me all sorts of names because I refuse to agree with them but as I have said many times out here in this forum....Truth is relative.....not subjective. Gay marriage is immoral.

In Massachusetts they can if they are legal state residents.
California, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maine, New Jersey and Vermont grant persons in same-sex unions a similar legal status to those in a civil marriage by domestic partnership, civil union or reciprocal beneficiary laws.
