I can't tell you about the drug, but i can tell you about being allergic to fire ant stings. They are the worst! I know why they call them fire ants. Even days after being stung, you'll get a flare as if the ant was stinging you again. Those little white pustules in the bite are proof it's a fire ant and not some other kind of bite. Oh, I hope those pills work. I got stung twice on my foot last year and I couldn't wear a normal shoe for a week. They are nasty!

Methylprednisolone is a steroid preparation. It reduces swelling and itching. If used for a few days such as five or seven days, it can be stopped without reducing, without any side effects. If used for a longer time, it should be reduced gradually. This is done because the drug suppresses the body's natural steroid production. On reducing gradually, this will not happen.
When used for a long time, side effects can be moon face and abnormal fat distribution, removal of calcium from bones, reduced resistance to infection, high blood pressure, growth retardation in children, etc.Anyway, you were treated correctly. Do not worry.

As a steroid, that drug will supress your immune system as long as you're taking it. For inflammation, it's good, and when taken in moderation and for short periods of time, that's no problem, but as with all prescription medication, make sure not to take it longer or more of it than your doctor prescribes.

It will not harm you if you limit the pack to 4 or 5 times per year.
Just don't abuse this. These are very good for helping you quick.
