I saw one this morning at the Big Boy restaurant. He had a "I support the troops" decal on his SUV. But when I ask him to send his one and only 20 year old son to Iraq his easy going demeanor turned sour. He looked as if he had crap in his mouth. ( Oh Yes! Don't you love those Republicans ) He said "I support the war as long as my children don't have to serve". Then, when he walked away I took the decal off his vehicle. ( I now have four of them ) Those war supporters are amazing aren't they? as long as other people fight their war they are all for it. What Pukes!!

9. You have to believe that you love Jesus and Jesus loves you, and that Jesus shares your hatred of AIDS victims, homosexuals, and Hillary Clinton.

10. You hate the ACLU for representing convicted felons, but they owed it to the country to bail out Oliver North.

11. You have to believe that the best way to encourage military morale is to praise the troops overseas while cutting their VA benefits.

12. You believe that group sex and drug use are degenerate sins that can only be purged by running for governor of California as a Republican.

13. You have to believe it is wise to keep condoms out of schools, because we all know if teenagers don't have condoms they won't have sex.

14. You have to believe that the best way to fight terrorism is to alienate our allies and then demand their cooperation and money.

15. You have to believe that government medicine is wrong and that HMO's and insurance companies only have your best interests at heart.

16. You have to believe that providing health care to all Iraqis is sound government policy but providing health care to all Americans is socialism personified.

17. You believe that tobacco's link to cancer and global warming are "junk science", but Creationism should be taught in schools.

18. You have to believe that waging war with no exit strategy was wrong in Vietnam but right in Iraq.

19. You have to believe that Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney was doing business with him, and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion.

20. You believe that government should restrict itself to just the powers named in the Constitution, which includes banning gay marriages and censoring the internet.

21. You have to believe that the public has a right to know about the adulterous affairs of Democrats, while those of Republicans are a "private matter".

22. You have to believe that the public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades but that Bush was right to censor those 28 pages from the Congressional 9/11 report because you just can't handle the truth.

23. You support state rights, which means Ashcroft telling states what locally passed voter initiatives he will allow them to have.

24. You have to believe that what Clinton did in the 1960's is of vital national interest but what Bush did decades later is "stale news" and "irrelevant".

25. You have to believe that trade with Cuba is wrong because it is communist, but trading with China and Vietnam is good business.

1. How do you know he only had one son?
2. How do you know his "one and only" son is 20?
3. No one would ever say, "I support the war as long as my children don't have to serve."
4. If he had only one son, he would have referenced his "child" NOT his "children."

You are much worse than a liar. You are an anti-American, anti-military, anti-democracy lying coward.

And, by the way - I am a conservative Republican who did ten years active duty and has been in the National Guard for the last five years. I am staying in the Guard until they kick me out when I am 59 1/2. Part of the reason I am staying in so long is so that both of my boys can join my unit when they turn 18 and we can all serve together in the same unit.

And just what the hell have YOU done to support the troops besides spread vicious lies and hatred???

yeah, its like they truly believe that whats going on in the world doesnt apply to them. dont get me wrong, theres just as many democrats out there that suck too, but the current republican climate is just so far removed from reality. their stories change pretty much daily on the news. my favorite is still rumsfield's quote from when we went into iraq "we know where the wmd's are, they're east west north and south of baghdad." then 3 months ago "i never said we knew where the wmd's are". and they call the democrats flip-floppers. pfft.

did you see the republican on the news the other day talking about how terrible video games are now? they're saying the ratings arent effective enough, and even his own kids have games that he isnt sure they should be playing. THEN TAKE THE GAME AWAY YOU JACKASS. another guy went as far as saying that grand theft auto: san adreas probably wouldnt cause upper class kids to act violently, but a kid from the streets would be more prone to it. call me crazy, but a kid who's seen the streets is probably aware that life isnt like a video game. and you know, those kids at columbine werent exactly poor right?

It's one thing to ask questions and debate, but it's another thing to act as the supreme judge of all political principals. Are you daft? Just because someone supports a war doesn't mean that they HAVE to send their children overseas. That's a loaded question.

I love this example. I hear variations on it all the time. No one can "send" their kid into the army. And I don't really believe he responded the way you said he did.
