I'm not a South Korean so I'm not so sure. Maybe they made a special agreement that the South Korean government will let more expatriots from America stay in South Korea? Or South Korean lets the American Army have an army base in Korea? I don't think it's because of South Koreans hate American because we always hear news about them favouring the American government. They must have some kind of special agreement. It's just my humble opinion.

South Koreans want the reunification of both the Korea's.but Americans don't.That's why south Koreans don't wont Americans to stay more than Thirty days.Any country where Americans stay for a longer period they start considering how to capture the natural resources and suck the whole economy of that country.

Have you asked yourself why America doesnt let some other nations into America for the same amount of time?

Different countries have different rules. Generally it is dependant on a mutual agreement between two countries.

I gather from your other question that you are working here, so you needent worry so much about how many days you can stay her in comparison with other nationalities.

It is easy to get a visa for Korea that is good for 5 years that allow you to stay longer. I am not sure why non-visa american can only stay 30 days. 30 days if pretty good.

National reputation. Most countries - not just Korea - would rather let a Swede, Brit, Aussie or a Canadian within their borders than an American.

these rules are beyond logic. when i went to S. Korea this year, my spouse and I (both US nationals) got a 30-day entry permit, but our 3 year old son got 90 days. What is the sense of that?

I think most of these rules are just bureaucratic, and there is no deeper meaning to it....
