Yes, I believe so...The human brain is a very powerful thing. If you believe in anything hard enough it will create it. Like animals most other "social" animals, humans need to have a "leader." For instance, the parents of a child, they take upon that role. Adults are the same way, just because they mature it does not mean the need to be "led" disappears. Since humans end up not regarding each other as much (unless they make millions) they look onto something greater, that has the power to create, destroy and bless. In most cases that ends up being "G-d." The belief can be so great that the brain can make the person see things that aren't really there. For instance, a burning bush that isn't really burning, a man walking on water, and etc. If you don't think the brain can that remember, when children are young they make up imaginary beings to keep them company. People do the same with "G-d."

Genesis 1: 26 "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness..."
Material man has a very limited perspective of life, a being confined to a specific form. A limited mind can not conceive of an infinite existence or concept and to project to such is a fallacy.
God is limitless, to even describe God is difficult from the perspective of a limited methodology such as written language. For man to presume that God is the image of himself is a facetious and ignorant concept.
Such a limited being as Man, could not have created such an Infinite concept as God, other than to presuppose that because Man does not understand his existence, something else might have created him.

God has always been here since forever! and we are made in his image not the other way around. it says so in the Bible, read Genesis 1:26 where it says, "Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness:" read it from a King James 1611 Bible, not any other bible! any other Bible is a lie! K? God Bless!

i don't think god was created in mans likeness. god was created by man to be more then man. god is what man believes he can some day be. humans as a species is very young. we need someone or something to tell us when we are both good little boys and girls and when we are not. man created god as the ultimate parent. so i would agree that man created god, but not that man created god in his image. we created him to be more then us.

No my God created me and everything else but some people do create their own gods by saying,I think God is this or that or I believe God is this or that.Creating God to be what they want him to be so they won't be accountable for their actions. The God of the Bible is the creator not the created.

-Yes. In the old testament it was forbidden to make an image of God. But they did. I have seen an image of the "Ancient of Days" which I really like. I gave it to a Jewish man for Christmas. I relay admire him and just wanted him to notice the likeness. I was musing one day and recalled the picture and the idea that we create from our own images and then realized it was not strange that God would look like an older Jewish man.
The same is true of Jesus. I don't like to see Him pictures as an extremely attractive male. This is because scripture says that there was nothing in His appearance that was attractive. We picture Him this way because we admire beauty in people.
I think it is natural for each of us to picture God and Jesus in our mind and I think it is ok. But when we paint or draw we find that He looks to each of us as we want to see Him. And what evolves is to many pictures of God. Maybe God wants us all to see Him as we want to see Him because He wants to meet our individual need for a Father in Him and a Savior in Jesus.

No, i believe, no its wrong to say i believe i know that its the opposite of what you say Man was created in God's likeness. While it is non-visible to my eyes, and even if our bodies are different, our minds are alike, naturally Gods is on a much higher level, that is my belief and if you agree, wonderful, if not, i cannot change that

Biblically speaking, man was created in God's image, and then woman was made from man. It's a matter of perspective I guess.
