God can't be the source of all goodness. Otherwise he wouldn't have the gumption to hold drown everyone on the planet. No good person drowns another person. If he needed to euthanize them, why not kill them more humanely? But no, God had to suffocate millions of people in the great flood. The bible is proof that god is a vengeful and murderous deity!

You can choose to do good things "on your own" because God gave you free will. But ultimately God is still the "source" of all goodness.

Everything that is good about a man comes from God. A man can do good works on his own, but he cannot be good enough to get into Heaven on his own. According to God's perfect standards all of our good works are like filthy rags in his eyes. He doesn't grade on a scale, it's either 100% or you fail.
That's why I'm so glad that I don't have to depend upon whatever "goodness" I might have but instead can trust in the imputed righteousness He has made available to all who will trust in the gracious gift of his Son.

God is the source of nothing. Bad is a result of Man ruling himself.

God is the source of Life, what you do with it becomes your choice. God cannot "make" you do good things just as He can't make you do bad things. The true essence of His Love however is that in believing in Him you are drawn to do kind, good and caring things. The "source" He provides for you is love and acceptance, true needs that everyone has in order to show others that same love and acceptance. In life we seem to "mirror" what we see and feel. If you feel loved, you show love. If you feel and see hatred, then you show it as well. I believe there is good in all people, sometimes you just have to dig a little deeper to find it in some. Its great too, when you find that good in some they then can begin to see it in themselves.

Since God gave us free will, I believe it is man, and man alone that commits act of kindness and/or evil. Besides giving us this gift, God has nothing to do with it. The boy that killed my mom took his gift of free will and decided to kill. He wasn't possessed, he didn't worship the devil. He just chose to take a human life because he was getting evicted. I bet he prays to God every day now that he's in prison for the rest of his life, and God will forgive him, if the killer asks.

In a technical sense, both. Man creates the good in his life, but god created him and the things around him, so if you go from direct to indirect God is the source of all goodness, i know its vague, but that is my explanation, i hope we meet eye to eye friend

I believe all things good are derived from God. Of course man is completely capable of doing good all on his own, but the desire to do good is put there by God.

i think god is just a myth that man has made up so that we have something to live for. so of course man and woman can do good for themselves. i would relate god to others, such as the Easter bunny, Santa clause, the tooth fairy and any other fictional person that we are taught at a young age to believe in so we will be good and do good things. so you can accredit you doing good things to god because you may fear for your own future, but it has always been you doing what was right.
