I use this website~

After you sign up for a free account, click on Food. You can create your own meal plan specifically for yourself. Also, the plan gives you recipes for each meal; and a shopping list to boot~~You can delete recipes that you don't like from the plan or remove shopping list items that you don't need~It is really the best way that I have found to plan meals for my household~no hassle and the recipes are very good~~

As far as lifestyle, I walk everyday for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Staying active really helps with my blood sugar levels~I drink water since my husband hates diet drinks :)

I see an endocrinologist 2 to4 times per year. They are more knowledgeable about diabetics than a general physician. He does the tests I need and can make recommendations for me specifically. Also, he gives me meters, strips, and other diabetic supplies to sample :)

Contact me if you have an specific questions~

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

I noted I had different health problems crop up on me. I did research & here is how I have changed my lifestyle:
1 - I eat breakfast every day & I make sure that the food contains at least 4 grams of fiber.
2 - I eat at least a couple servings of fresh fruit
3 - I only eat red meat 1x a month
4 - I have cut back on the amount of bread I eat. But since I bake my own bread, I now bake whole wheat bread & whole wheat pizza crust - Yummo!
5 - I eat lots more onion & garlic
6 - I used to be addicted to cola drinks. I stopped drinking the stuff. Especially after I discovered each serving has several Tablespoons of sugar! I also toured a soda factory & uggh! THAT made me want to quit really fast!
7 - I started taking vitamins
I noted a change in how I feel & have lost about 40 pounds! Feel great.

I also lived in several different states & noted that there IS a difference in my health while living in different areas.

I am a diabetic myself and The doctor haven't given me a diabetic schedule as such. Try salads , grilled foods instead of fried and STAY AWAY FROM ALOT OF THOSE BREADS INCLUDING CORNBREAD CAUSE it turns into sugar. Also no pastas and if you do not much and that includes: RICE, SPAGHETTII, AND MACARONI, AND THOSE POTATOES. I have been told that you can those sweet potatoes but not many and califlower, broccoli, and squash, and meats need to be like i said grilled, broiled or even baked or boiled but no fried food, too greasy and the tea needs to be either unsweetned ( if can stand it that way ) if not get some sweet -n-low and put into every glass instead of the whole pitcher of it done that way and it's better too. Also watch it on those items you put on your meats like: ketchup and mayonnaise they have sugar in them too like those cereals on the shelves; You have shop around to see what you can eat best and VISIT A DOCTOR THAT SPECIALIZES IN " DIABETES " ASK HIM / HER IF THEY DO AND don't be afraid to ask alot of questions ok .Hope this helps Also you might want to go to the library and check out some books on the diease itself to help you understand if you are just know being dianoised with the diabetes. You don't want to have start giving yourself shots they aren't fun at all .

My dad has diabetes, and I believe that following the "Atkins's diet" is a good idea. If you have not heard about this, which I'm almost positive you have, it consists of the intake of a lot of protein, and few to no carbs. Because your body treats carbs like sugar, even if it's not sugar. And because diabetics don't produce insulin, they can't control their blood/sugar level. Also, if your sugar level gets too low, you should try drinking some orange juice.

Yes. Eat half of what you used to. Don't eat after 6 or 7 o'clock p.m. Cut way down on sweets and refined sugar and flour products. Get a dog that you'd have to walk twice every day for exercise. Get 8 hours of sleep every night.
P.S. - don't get sucked in by sugar substitutes and diet products or margarines. They could cause more problems than they're worth. Stay natural.

Go to the American Diabetes Association and you should be able to look up a sample menu. If your local hospital offers a nutrition class, then sign up and take that. You will be given a few sample menus and how many different food groups you are allowed for the day. Then you can go to www.allrecipes.com and they have menus for a diabetic. Good luck.
