I'm a hospital tech, and I cannot give you specifics due to Hippa laws but I can tell you this:
I was in the ER with a patient that had overdosed. The body rejects all poisons and therefore the person was asphyixiating, hemorraging, and experiencing aneurisms.
On top of this, we had to run several IV's and strap the person down as they were screaming in severe pain.
So in my opinion, it can be a very painful death.

I'm glad you added the comment that you don't want to do this. Suicide, in any form, is not an option because things really DO turn around for most people, given the chance.
Okay, when people OD on pills, there is the possibility their body will fight it and they will vomit. Often people who try to OD on pills actually die from choking on their own vomit...not a pretty or peaceful way to go. Then, there are the ones who don't die, but cause themselves irreversable brain damage as a result of the OD and then they have to deal with the loss of physical or mental capabilities. Death by OD is nothing like the glamorous end that movies and some books make it. It's ugly...believe me.

You say you're just wondering what would happen, but why are your thoughts turning to thinking that? While we're alive, we should apply ourselves to living to the fullest, not wondering how to physically withstand death! I guess at some point when I was young I wondered a little like that, but not for long.
A lot of people look to drugs as a cure all, even in how to die. They are not. Perhaps you need a good buddy to wonder more about LIFE with!

If you did die it would be a miserable death.. Almost all strong medications nowadays will cause severe vomiting and stomach cramps if you o.d.... I know that isnt the way I would want to go... I do know this for a fact because my friend tried to o.d. several times on different pills all to the same horrifying effect.. UGH!!!

why wonder such a thing, if you are not contemplating it? I would imagine it would not be peaceful; think about it; if you have too much let's say, caffeine, in your body, you get jittery, right? I would imagine that more than the recommended dosage of any drug would cause jitters, nerveousness, hallucinations, rapid heart beat, etc. Not a great thing. If you allow yourself to think thought like this, it isn't a far stretch to consider trying it. Don't. If you're having a propblem, talk to someone who can help. If you don't know anyone, ask on here. We'll try to help.Jesus loves you!

You might die a peaceful death, but then again you might end up in a drug induced "freak-out", or you could get violently sick first and convulse. If you don't die you could end up in a comma and be a vegetable for years. Then again, you could just end up with brain damage and wear diapers for the rest of your life.
You you do die, the people that you leave behind won't be peaceful. They will be left agonizing over your death.
If it is suicide there is the question of whether you'll end up burning in hell.

I think it pretty much comes down to which pills you OD on, like if you OD on sleeping pills you'd probably die a peaceful death, if you OD on an opiate (like Heroin or Morphine) then I think you'll end up dying a horrible and painful death. Remember, always check with your doctor or pharmacy before using drugs to commit suicide ;)

It's going to hurt a hell of a lot. My psychotic ex tried to commit suicide with painkillers but someone saw the bottle and called an ambulance. The doctor said that if his stomach didn't get pumped, he would have suffered from severe liver damage and died a slow, painful death. He was sent to a psych ward after wards so killing yourself that way isn't a good idea.

Most suicide attempts by taken pills fail - you body is designed to throw up stuff that makes you sick.
Too many pills causes the stomach to be upset, and most people throw them up. Not all though - it's a terrible tragedy.

Depends on what you OD on.
Some pills will slowly shut down each system in your body till you die, which is very painful.
