you can stop your body from making belly fat by cutting out sugar, alcohol, white bread, white potatoes, and anything with a glycemic index above 55.
try never to eat a meal over 400 calories
That means eating smaller meals. 4 meals at 400 calories each
And a few 100 calorie snacks-that works for me.
The whole idea is not to spike your blood sugar. Overeating with big meals, eating sugar, or high fat foods, or drinking alcohol spikes your blood sugar. That makes your body produce insulin.
Insulin’s big job is “TURN THAT EXTRA SUGAR INTO FAT”
Ergo: no sugar spike, no insulin, no insulin, no fat production
Thats why they say people with belly fat or pear shapes are prone to diabetes
I hope this helps

My first question to you would be: are you currently under a lot of stress? If you are, you should know that increased stress over an extended period of time causes the body to change the amount of certain hormones that it releases. One of these hormones is cortisol. The problem with cortisol is that is helps maintain weight when it is released in a normal amount. As I said, under stress, this is one of the hormones that released in excess. This hormone helps to trap fat in the belly area. Another thing to consider is that women tend to have more fat around the hip, buttock, and lower abdominal region as preparation for pregnancy. I'm not trying to say that you are pregnant, but women are just designed this way. There are certain exercises that target this problem area, and no, sit ups and crunches will not do the trick. My advice to you would to be consult your physician if you are extremely bothered by it, or contact a physical trainer at a local gym for instructions on the proper exercises to do in order to eliminate that stored fat.

It's genetic.
One thing that's important to know is that people with "barrel belly" are at higher risk of heart disease than those shaped like a pear. When fat tends to migrate to the abdomen, it also goes to the organs, including the heart. There is probably a history of heart disease in your family.
Because of this risk, it is more important for you than for some others to stay as fit as possible with regular exercise, and to avoid becoming obese.
I have the same problem. Great legs, though!

Its just that fat tends to accumulate in different body parts in a different sequence. Firstly it gathers up in the belly and hips then the chin and so on, a bit of jogging and slight diet control might prevent that belly from getting out. Good luck

Interesting because I have the same problem. From what I have researched so far, STRESS is one big cause & I have had a lot of stress for a long time. I lost 40 pounds, and wouldn't you know it my tummy STILL bulges!
One thing I am trying right now is eating foods with a higer fiber content and doing exercises that target my tummy.
p.s. Thanks "Onion" because I had not thought about the Sugar Spike.

Stress and over-eating can cause weight gain, and some people take weight on it different places. Usually the visibility is certain places is caused by genetic pre-disposition.

Well, first I thought you may suffer of aerophagia, but that wouldn't cause gain in your belly... I suggest you to ask a specialist.

That's just the first place people gain weight. You might not gain more and its just because you're out of shape but it might just be the start of more weight gain.

Try eating low fat food, that belly you have is because you have extra "fat" in your body.
Try excersining and eating less fat food, such as yellow cheese, burgers and other junk food, or red meat.
