If they sound "to perfect to be true" there is a good chance they are not.
A creep isn't going to tell you he's a creep. He is going to have to make up a bunch of stuff to make him sound like a winner.
If someone has tons of friends then odds are at least one of their friends would introduce them to someone and they wouldn't have a personal ad.
Be very careful with personal ads. Never give personal information out to anyone. Don't even give out a phone number because these can be back traced and someone can find out your address. Cell phones are safer, but recently phone companies have been listing names and addresses for these as well.
It's too bad you can't ask for references. :)

Remember MCI? The more intensive the marketing program, the more likely you're being sold a bill of goods. On the OTHER hand, some people that write up these ads really DO have it together, know exactly what they're looking for, and want to get past all the preliminaries 'cause they've been through it before.
What are YOU looking for, ever written down some attributes that you're looking for in a guy? You could put those in a personal ad, too, and see if you get any responses...

"currently has no hobbies" Um, what do you call this? Anyway, on to the question at hand. My personal would read something like this: 35 year old male. Recently attacked by a bunch of cat ladies, but the mental scars will soon heal; neighbors most likely think I'm a meth addict due to my erratic hours, but I'm not; you can usually find me crying on my lawn holding nutsedge in my hand and screaming up to the heavens. If interested, please send a self addressed stamped envelope (because I'm too cheap to pay for postage) to: revenginator 666 Yamster Way Yahoo, California, 90666

Run as fast as you can......This is the typical allure of something for nothing. What woman wouldn't want to be wined and dined, attend parties with local socialites, shop till you drop, etc.
Some of these are fronts for prostitution rings, pornography, etc. They prey on vulnerable young women with NO self esteem. Perfect for either of those scenarios.
If you're looking to be a gold digger, then hang out at the upscale bars in town, and I'm not talking about one where you throw peanut shells on the floor!!!!

Yes, I've seen similar adds with 'hot' chicks that are supposedly 'right next door' looking for a guy like me! lol Like the saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

don't fall for the phonie adds. Alot of guys try to sound like something they're not in order to attract women. If they can't find someone being who they are then they're not worth it.

I think you got it...if they sound too good to be true, chances are, they aren't...just watch for those types, & just a piece of advice (although I assume you've heard it countless times), don't ever meet anyone whom you met trhough the internet by yourself, ever...
Good luck :)
