I means vanity. It's a fake sort of pride based on something you had no control over. For example, if you were born in America, you could claim that you are proud to be an American, but really you are saying you are proud of America and happy that you are accidentally associated with a country you like. The real problem could be that you're a complete idiot with no real justification for being proud at all so you point to... what? Well, I'm proud that I have toenails! Ah! What an accomplishment!
Nothing racist here? Puh-lease! Saying you are proud of our racial heritage is inherently racist. I mean, what if someone said they had "white pride?" People would think they were from the KKK!!! Great disclaimer on racism. Before you say "nuh-uh!" I'll just save some time and throw in my "uh-huh!" ahead of time.

Brown pride is the same as American pride or another other sort. Mexicans who are proud of their history and heritage and work to be the best they can be to bring honor and distinction to their country through their actions. This has nothing, whatsoever, to do with those who choose to bring a negative light to being Mexican, just as there are those who's behavior brings a dark light to being American. We cannot judge ALL by the actions of some.

I am simply proud to be an American so I have "American Pride"
I live in America was born here and even if it isn't 100 percent perfect I feel it is one of the best countries in the world and I would not want to live anywhere else.
If a group of people want to invade our borders and put their "pride" above ours I think they are being mislead and should relocate back to "brown" (wherever that is) and support their own country.

as with any group, its a cultural acknowledgment specific to that culture and identifying with a particular race. brown pride relates to people of hispanic heritage. it doesn't mean tht those expressing brown pride, black pride or black power have a racist agenda; its an expression of solidarity among people of their culture and just what the word says pride in their heritage and achievements. every race speaks of and shows their pride in one way or another....festivals, remembering significant events or people, solidarity, cultural awareness, etc. if we could learn more about each other, we'd probably see more similarities than differences or the differences wouldn't be such a big deal.

Why would there be anything racist about "brown pride"? It's only racist when it's "white pride". Either way I hope people don't start spray painting it all over to show their pride.

Hey "rich", why is it only racist when it is "white pride"?? From my understanding "brown pride" is a slogan the hispanics use to show their pride. (and the term "La raza")
So why aren't those terms deemed racist?? Same meaning yes?? Just a different race right?? hmmmm I just LOVE the double standards!!

I've never heard of brown pride, but I'm not surprised or really disturbed by it. I've already heard of black pride and what bothers me is that any 'white' pride is seen as being racist, but no one else's pride is.

They want to be proud to raise the Mexican border and by moral majority cede states back to Mexico and perpetuate that as 17% of the population, they can control Congress like they were 97% of the population. There legal work is what is busting your government budgets, it's time to fight back.
And to those people who ask why now - because this has gone on too far with our leaders - it's time to clean up Congress!!
