There are too many to list, but some important ones that stand out to me are: 1) get to know your server/hostess, etc by name! 2) place your napkin in your lap and use it. 3) chew with your mouth closed and try to limit animated conversation where you might start tossing food from your mouth at others. 4) don't drink and eat at the same time. (sip/taste/sip/taste) 5) elbow off the table 6) it's ok if you can't eat all your food - ask for take out
7) always tip - even if service is not good. However, get names/phone numbers/email and write your comments to the manager. 8) compliment OH! And if you are with a male - and he doesn't do this on his own - you tell him: PLEASE TAKE OFF YOUR HAT. Oh yea, I was always told that servers hate it when people put their cloth napkins in the plate of food. Fold napkin and place to the side. I am a stickler for making sure that my salad plate, dessert plate, bread plate are all stacked, utensils ready for pick up. I know - it's a habit, but they do appreciate it.
