Wow people are really jerks about religions they don't agree with. I believe for a hindu, heaven is not so much a state of mind as it is the melding of your self/spirit/soul with the "Ultimate Reality" aka God/heaven/eternity whatever you want to call it. There is no designated time or place for this ultimate reality, it just is, much like with the Christian idea of heaven or hell, there really is no place for it, we assume heaven is up, hell is down, but there is no way for us to see it. As for Hindu "hell", being reincarnated at all can be considered hell. If you do especially badly in life, you can get reincarnated down a few rungs.

It is absolutely correct that there is no heaven or hell geographically for those who live in the biological body without any sensory afflictions[in a sense such people will not have any effects of the humanly cravings but at the same time merge the subtlest entity of of the body with the cosmic state of the wholeness enjoying the bliss/peace and such people would preach anything to the rest of humanity and safeguard their physical state of being irrespective of the implications]but cannot describe what exactly is MIND as you also don't know or can derive it from anybody in the GLOBE.What has been understood by the humanity for the definition of MIND is only pertaining to the biological mass. But the current generation of the so called Hindus also donot know certainly of that because it can neither be derived from any scriptures[BOTH IN SRUTHI AND SMRITHI] nor it can be passed on to the next.So it is either granted by the GRACE of GOD or BEING THAT ITSELF.Hence it is not the HINDU who is correct but the belief if in the system.
N.B;ANYBODY IN THE GLOBE CAN GET TO REALISE THAT.

Go Hindu if you must, but I am Christian. The Book of Revelations explains that Heaven is composed of certain dimensions and things, including 12 gates made of pearl, a river running through the place, fruit trees producing constantly ... not a state of mind my friend. Also not a place where all Christians will dwell. (A separate topic ?) Rebel.

They are not physical places, like in the pit of the earth, or somewhere in outer space. Hell only exists as a state of mind, and you put yourself there with your beliefs. Heaven, is an alternate dimension and an elevated state of consciousness where we live our true, spiritual lives at the soul level. We can achieve this while in physical incarnation, but we will all return to this state at the death of our physical selves.

hell, heaven, god all are states of mind. hell and heaven as mentioned by christians and muslims, is also accepted by some hindus and in one of their books (Gardu-purana), there is a vivid explanation of hell and heaven.

But the higher philosophy of hinduism (abt which all the idiots who replied above, mocking hinduism), does not really give importance about hell and heaven. It is more concerned about astral planes where our souls go and learn their subtle lessons and then come back to earth for next lessons in physical plane.

Still the bigger population of hindus do believe in a hell and a heaven where we are punished/rewarded for our karma, before taking next birth

Heaven and Hell are not a state of mind. They are real places that really exsist.

If you want to believe that then go right ahead, but there is a heaven and hell. It's not about where it is but accepting Jesus as your Lord and personal Savior, before Jesus comes back.

Then my question to you is, where is the body of Jesus located? Or the bodies of Enoch or Elijah, where are they? They have to be at some dicreet place. Where are the atoms of those men's bodies, since we know they are not located on this earth?

ya according to hinduism

hell and heaven are in our mind....

metaphysics also says the same., the world we perceive around us is nothing but our mind..

good and bad, pleasure and pain, are in our mind alone, and not

in the world/universe.
