Fleas spend only a small amount of time on the dog. Most of the time they are every where else. In your carpet and bedding and furniture.
You will have to treat the dogs and the entire house and all the bedding and carpets and furniture.
Get a spary that you can use in the house and a few bombs to set off in the house.
Treat the dogs then set off the bombs and when you go back in then wash all the bedding and spray the furniture and carpets. The carpet is the worst. The eggs can live for years and will hatch when they find a pet.
Yuo may have to treat several times but keep treating once they are gone be sure to treat the dogs every month so you do not get them again.

There are many different bugs that could be doing the biting. I always give my dogs flea baths, but still found fleas on them - the fleas were living in the carpets! Buy some type of flea control for the house - there are little lights that you plug in, that have sticky paper attached - any bugs in the house will be attracted to it and stick to the "fly paper" sheet. You might also want to get something to sprinkle into carpets to kill the fleas (there are powders at any petstore)...but dont' use it anywhere babies or children might play. Wash your bedding with the hottest water you can find, and check under the beds that there aren't any visible bug nests.

It could be something else. Bedbugs live in the bedding and are almost impossible to see. Mosquitos usually come out in the evening and if they get into your house they will bite you while you are sleeping. If the bites are only on the parts of your body that are not covered by the sheets, then it's probably mosquitos. If the bites are red and rashy and very tiny, it's probably bedbugs. Since fleas live in the carpet and furniture, they tend to bite on the lower parts of your body, like your legs and feet. You usually won't see the fleas on your dog unless he is heavily infested, but you often can see the flea droppings on his skin--they are tiny and black and look like sand.

I lived in south carolina for 14 years and we had that problem and couldn't figure it out. I have to ask... do you have carpets? If you do put on white socks and walk through the rooms. Look at your socks... do they have little black specs on them trying to burrow into the socks? You have fleas if you do. Dogs can carry them in from outside even if they have flea medicine on them... the fleas jump off the dog and into the carpet and any material they can burrow into. We were floored to find this out! And it is a pain to wake up with numerous little inchy bites. We got bug foggers for fleas specifically, you can find them in wal-mart or any grocery store. Follow the directions on the box and it does not hurt to put a couple in each room. We had to make a practice of fogging our house 2 or 3 times a year. It kept the fleas gone. I feel for you and your family... we went through it and I don't wish that on anyone! Good luck!

I'm having the same problem, as are others I know (all dog parents)! I live in the Midwest, and we call them "No-See Bugs." I know that sounds really backwoods, but it's the truth. Their relatives are those nasty water-dwelling bugs we call "Chiggers" or "Swimmers' Itch."
The bad news is that they are a parasite carried in bird feces. The good news is they only last a few weeks, then they're gone for the summer. They do seem to be running rampant this year. About all you can do is wait it out, and change your bedclothes often. They will go away!

they say there is really such a thing as bed bugs. I know what you mean. They hurt, too. You need to make sure you wash your sheets regularly and vacuum a lot. In case it IS fleas , then you DO need to bomb the house with repellent. THEN, go back again the next week and do it again.
Your carpet could be the culprit. Has there been a dog in your house? BOMB!!!

If conditions are right fleas can live in rugs and other fabrics. You could have bedbugs or you could have a spider infestation and that is what is biting you.

could be bedbugs or dust mites they live in beds or in carpeted areas, to get rid of them call pest control or find a dust mite/bed bug spray or hover all carpeted areas and burn the hover bag to kill all the dust mites and during a sunny day let the bed out into the sun and let them air out. best to hover beds aswell just in case.
