start with the basics like sit, reward him with a treat and then gently push the back of his body while he is sitting he should lay down, give him another treat.

I think it is good to teach a dog 2 wait for a trat eg biscuits and then your dog will fell if he obays you he will be rewarded this way your do will be fine . AND FOR THOSE WHO SED I AM NOT YOUR BUDDY DONT BOTHER ANSWERING!

Yahoo groups has people who own dogs and can help you. Have you taught your dog the "heel" command? That's a good trick.
