Well, I can understand what you're trying to say, except for the butt part, lol. Yes, they are filthy pigs. I would never smoke.

Well lets see here, it is the smokers body and it is enjoyable. smoking is very addictive, more than heroin. But most smokers did not know how addictive or the dangers until recently.
Smokers pay a hefty TAX on cigarettes. If there was a sure way to get rid of the addiction most smokers have,( as everyone is different) I sure most smokers would quit. But then the GOVERNMENT wouldn't get all of those TAX DOLLARS from the cigs , so you can bet there WON'T be a treatment.
O.K. as far as pollution, look at the whole picture from factories, to chemical plants, power plants, and vehicles, the list goes on and on. As far as the litter I see used condoms, used needles , fast food packaging, pop cans beer cans, dead animals, broken furniture, big bags of trash, you name it, even a shoe here and there, BUT I CAN'T FIND ANY MONEY.
And you can not say all smokers are filthy pigs as most do put their butts in an ash tray and the pack in the trash. THE PROBLEM AS YOU CAN SEE IS SOME PEOPLE NOT ALL

Any "filth" that may be associated with smoking cigarettes can never match the hate, anger, ignorance and disrespect that you've just sent out.
Are you also protesting as strongly the pollution caused by vehicles, which I'd bet money you drive, factories, that produce products you buy, fast food chains, do you eat at them?
In my neck of the woods, I am daily assaulted with the smells of the oil and gas industry,(folks keep telling me that's the smell of money--but I never see the dollars) it's so bad at times it wakes me in the middle of the night from a sound sleep. There's also the stench of huge dairy farms, a cheese plant and a waste water treatment plant (all of which I'm told are also the smell of money). And lets not forget the smell of traffic! All of these things stink so bad they give me headaches. I've never experienced that from someone smoking a cigarette.
On the ground, there are way more grocery bags, fast food wrappers, glass, cans and even used disposable diapers than cigarette butts!
Why so much hostility toward smokers?

While I don't consider myself a "filthy pig", I do think it is a stinky habit. I do not think I should be clumped in with the butt litterers considering I use ashtrays and Marlboro has even provided a butt container now. How 'bout the rest of the population, like the one I was driving behind the other day, that was throwing empty drink cups, empty food bags and cartons, etc. out of their truck windows? Should I include you in that group of people? Just because I smoke doesn't make me a "filthy pig" and until you supply my household funding and live my life you really shouldn't be judgin'!
By the way you should thank the smokers and alcoholics...their the ones the pay for your stadiums and such with the extra taxes they put on our cigs. and alcohol!
Also, this is the religion section...I don't see how this has anything to do with religion...other than thou shalt not judge!

Did you know that the greatest amount of pollution is done by nature?bOne volcano around 70,000 years ago spewed out more carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide in one day than man has produced in all of history. It almost killed off our species. But, the Earth has immense regenerative properties. So, I think you can let up on the smokers a little bit. They are not doing that much damage.

Jesus spoke of a far worse pollution than cigarette smoke.
Matthew 15:17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

Not to defend smokers or anything, but animals aren't helping the environmental situation. Take cows for instance, they produce hundreds of tons of methane and pump it into the air through their butts every day.

People start smoking for different reasons. Some say it helps them cope with anxiety.
Anxiety can come when they are being judged by rude narrow minded people.
Some rude narrow minded people dont like smokers and judge them.
Therefore creating a vicious circle of smoke (excuse the pun).
So lets all be nice then shall we?
Now where are my malboro's...

They cant help it, they are addicted. Plus the American Government doesn't want to illegalize cigarettes because it gets billions of dollars of tax every year from people buyng cigarettes. So really they cant help it.
