We can change worship styles, but I don't think we should change religion. If we do that, people will just mold religion to accomodate what they want. However, this will just be wasted time on a religion they made up.

absolutly not. the basic idea of religion is its a system of beliefs you put your faith in whether its christianity or any other religion. now the thing that made christianity so strong in the past was that it didnt change to accommodate this century or any other. the reason christianity has lost some of its luster is because of change to accommodate todays life style so people can have their cake and eat it too the problem with that is it will not hold water when an individual stands before God now im not going to get into a big sunday school lesson here trying to explain it all but basically whether its religion or anything for that matter if you go changing it then it loses the foundation it was built upon to begin with and we all know if you want to destroy something then take out the foundation. as far as christianity is concerned it was founded upon a solid foundation a cheif conerstone and it will never fall people can change it to meat thier wants and desires but the minute you change anything in the bible then your starting your religion totally seperate from christiantiy they are no longer a connection between the two and believe it or not its up to you but according to the bible we will be judged by Gods word not our own beliefs how we think it should be so hope that might have shed some light on the subject

Don't you think God considered the 21 Century (and every other century for that matter) when He sent down His religion and commandments. Religion doesn't have to change to suit the times, the times have to change to follow the religion.

If there is a God, He is not going to change because it is not His nature. Therefore, religion which is the adoration of and obedience to God, won't change much and shouldn't. Society changes but the nature of man doesn't. Thus religion shouldn't be changed because it about man and God, and it is more fundamental than anything else in society; society should adapt itself to this relationship, not this relationship to society.
If, however, there isn't a God, then there isn't much point in religion but if you're going to have it anyway then it will certainly change.

Many religions have changed a great deal over the past 10 years. Not so much in the tenets of their faith, but in their approaches to life, and whatever form of worship or prayer or whatever else they believe in. I think that these changes have helped a great deal in improving the quality of the nature of religion in general, so yes I believe that religion should not be an entirely static part of our society--the forms of worship and approaches to life should changed as the world around us changes, but we shouldn't really change our BELIEF SYSTEM itself simply for the fact that that invalidates it entirely.

It depends on what you mean by "religion."

Christianity cannot change, because it is based on the revealed Word of God. Instead of changing to reflect the world, Christians try to change the world to reflect God.

As for the religion of atheism (declared to be a religion by the Supreme Court), it will change with the wind, as there is no standard for them to follow. Whatever I like, whatever I think today, that's what I'll do, and it has no relation to what I think you should do or what I'll do tomorrow.

I think religion has tried to change but it is too traditional to keep up. Times have changed dramatically and most religions are not suited for culture and society as it is today. religion has become bigoted and closed minded towards those that are different to its dogmas.

Oh that's a great idea. And who is going to decide which religions and change and what they change? My religion is based on truth and reality. If you want me to stay doped up constantly, I would consider it possible to change my VIEW of reality. But reality itself does not change, so neither does my religion. I am open minded, and will change my views when presneted proof of my errors. The more I study, the more I am convinced I am right.

I think religion should be wiped out to accomidate society. people in religion cant seem to get along and use thier labels or thier relationships with a dead guy to beat others over the head with.

Religion core values do not need to change but to help a younger generation you need to find other way to reach them. Eather through different types of worship styles or by different types of events to bring a younger generation in.
