My dog's right eye was swollen , red , and runny about 4-5 days ago, so i bought some eye-flush at the pet store. That seemed to help a bit and started getting better but not completely. Today i notice the left eye getting the same, what is this? any ideas? I have two other dogs and they show no signs of anything, can dogs develop allergies? anybody ever experience this?

Your dog has an eye infection. Take it to the vet. If your eyes were swollen, red and runny, , would you wait a week or more for relief?

yes, dogs can have allergies. have you changed its food lately, or given it any kind of fruit melons. we made that mistake b4. we gave our pitt cantaloupe and he swelled up everywhere for 48 hours, then he was alright. we also switched his food 3 different times and every time he had an allergic reaction which made bumps all over his coat. pay close attention to the changes you make with your dog so it makes it easy to rule things out when speaking over the phone with a vet. and if you havent already, get to know you pet really well and your realize every dog is different just like humans. their bodies are diff. and react diff. to certain things

Could be weed irritation or allergies. Try visine in it's eyes and get some Benedryl down it. If it isn't better within a day take it to a vet.

Dogs certainly can developer allergies and do. However to me it would appear that he has an infection and you haven't cleared it up. You , in my opinion , take him to the vet and get it dealt with properly. Some infections can lead to blindness and in ext rem cases death. Love your dog and get him properly diagnosed and treated.

It could definitely be allergies. You should seek help from a vet immediately, benadryl would probably help, but she may even sterioids.
