I think that is so wrong. People really get to me when they
pull stuff like that and to confront them and then lie about it
right to your face thats no friend. You should do like they did
on this commercial i saw on t.v.. They had a bunch of marbles
in the medicine cabinet and when the person open it all the
marbles fell out and the person outside the door if hey did you
open the medicine cabinet. Busted! I thought it was cute.
Worth trying next time. I don't like nosy people in my house
at all. Theres the door as far as i'm concern, go back out
the way you came in. Hope you take care of your snoopy
friend in the best way by all means. Have a great week-end.

I have heard of people looking through others med cabinet.
I say that was lack of respect for your privacy. I'd put a stop to it immediately. And no, not everybody does it, but you know that saying..." people judge how they live " so of course he believes everyone else does it.
Ask him if he has seen someones cabinet once does he see it again at another occasion?
Some of your other answers are cool, like the ping-pong or marble suggestions but it might be money not well spent.
If you ever have him over empty the cabinet.

Well, the proper response from your friend should have been:
"I'm sorry I was snooping, and I won't go in there again if you don't want me to."
After all, it's your property, and he's trespassing. If he's your friend, he'd respect your wishes and feel bad he hurt your feelings.
--
As far as his comments go, you can't assume people WON'T look through your cabinet. It depends partly on culture and upbringing, as well as the person's sense of boundaries, as to whether they would look.
I usually avoid looking without permission, since I am extremely sensitive to people's boundaries simply by nature, but still feel the temptation sometimes to look. And I know many people that do look, even when they know they shouldn't. Knowing that, I know I would never store anything personal in my medicine cabinet anymore.
Sounds more like your friend was in denial, though, and can't handle admitting he was wrong / that he might have violated your privacy in some way.

First of all, I'd like to say that I LOVED Thin Kaboudit's answer lol! But anyway, just explain to him that you feel that that's an invasion of your privacy and you feel like he went behind your back rather than talk to you. He should trust you that there's not anything hidden in your cabinet that he didn't know about. You're not hiding depression or a drug addiction from him or something. He probably got really defensive because he was trying to take the blame off himself because he knew you caught him red-handed. It's not something to lose a friend over or anything, so just talk it out, explain your feelings, and then move on. Good luck!

Your privacy is important, of course. But a medicine cabinet is not a vault. If you don't want visitors snooping into anything (cabinet, drawer, chest), you're going to have to keep these things locked, or away from itchy hands.

this guy is a rudy pants! how long have you known him? i mean, if its been 4ever, deal with it. if not, have a cow! but, do not look through his. you do not want 2 commit the same crime as him. tell him how you feel is a therapists opinion, and arent they usually wrong? but you might consider asking someone he lives with 2 snoop through his stuff, and make sure he isnt having illegal drugs, whether it be expo markers, that stuff in tylenol, white out, or any other creepy things in weird places. dont 4get, u r only aloud somany medicines at a wal-mart check-out, because of the whole grug thing, so watch out 4 that, or , you could always put "some drug that just so happens 2 make you have diarrhea" in all of the bottles of pills that you can filter drugs out of, and then see if he ever goes through any of your things again!

As creepy as it is, It's practically a rule that a curious person HAS to look their host's medicine cabinet. It's just an old custom.
