Don't listen to that asshole... (creative)
If you two can respect each other's culture and religion then go for it. Each side of the family may not approve in the beginning but they'll have to come around sooner or later. And if not, it's your life and your happiness that you should be concerned about, no on else's. Good luck.

In another question you answered that you were a Jw, I am one as well and have been for 8 years. If this is true then you know what we are commissioned to do, marry only in the lord. You know it will be hard with the differences but you have to decide what to do, you answered on one question that we all work for the same goal, to not let satan govern us, is marrying out of the lord going to work with that or work against that. My sister married out of the lord and it is very hard for her especially now that they have a 2 month old baby girl. He wants her to have celebrate holidays and birthdays and many more things. You just have to think how is this going to effect Jehovah and My relationship with him? I am sure you will make the right choice for you and Jehovah just pray continuously about it and the elders are always there for you. I am here to talk as well if you need someone. Agape

You ask--we answer----yes I see you being able to get married---I also see the divorce that will most assuredly come within five years---holding to two such different beliefs and the core of any long term relationship eventually boiling down to these belief systems---something will have to give--big time for this to work

It really kind of depends on how loyal you both are to your respective religions. And if you are really serious with this person, you should sit down with him/her and talk about your beliefs so that you can learn the differences between them yourself. Besides that time could be invaluable for you two to really talk things through and come to an understanding about what is best for your lives. That may mean marriage and it may mean the opposite, but you owe it to yourself and to your partner to try to discover that together.

JW's can't marry non-JW's. One of you is going to have to convert to one religion.
