because they want the God given freedom to make their own choice...that choice is between them and God and it's noone else's business. Maybe all the differences have been allowed so that we could learn one very valuable lesson...judge not!
Actually...in Romans chapter 8 (I think, it's been awhile) it says that in the last days people will give up 'the natural use of their bodies...men will lie with men...' and further down it says that those that live this way 'can't enter heaven', but this was built in to make God like man, which he isn't, he doesn't think like us, and we have free will...He gave it to us for a reason...that reason wasn't condemnation it was freedom!!

Well, some gay people ARE Christian, and they want Christianity to be accepting of homosexuality because they believe in Jesus and in God, and they feel abandoned or left out of their religion because of their sexuality. They just want to be accepted as equal members of the church!
For Homosexuals who aren't Christian, I think they want Christianity to either accept homosexuality, or at least stop making laws outlawing homosexua acts or marriage. It's not so much wanting Christians to accept them as wanting Christians to let them do what they want with their lives.

I don't think they really care if they are accepted by Christians or not. I know some Gay Christians, yes it IS possible! Sounds like to me you are judging them.

Many of them were raised in Christian homes.
They also know what most Christian faiths have to say about homosexuality.
Is it the fear for their mortal soul? Is it that their mother is fearing for their mortal soul?
Church is a large part of many people's up-bringing. The Church teaches you to Love one-another, and to understand. Being loved by the Church one day because you're a giving member, then dispised by the Church the next because they finally learned something about you is hurtful. You want to be in good graces with those you love.

personally im strongly against people being gay but they feel that jesus preaches about love. none of jesus teachings states that being gay is a sin. also being gay wasnt a sin untill 1611 when the king james version came about. he didnt like gays so he added that part in the bible. bibles before the kjv doesnt mentions or doesnt have any references about being gay is a sin. matter of fact the dislike towards gays may be a sin because it produces hatred

Perhaps because they firmly believe that what they do is absolutely normal, and that would make a very important step towards being considered normal by every body
