Sugar is very addictive, and this is part of the problem, but it can be dealt with. You already know there is a problem, so this is a good thing! You're ready to kick it, and this is an even better thing! As with any addiction one has to be ready to "give it all they got" to kick it.. It takes 2 weeks to develop a habit, and 2 weeks to kick it, that's what I believe personally anyway, others have other opinions.
I'm a fitness director at a club, and I run weight loss programs constantly to help people stay on it for awhile, after they've been in several programs in a row, they get the idea, and then can go on their own. One of the things I have them do is to quit totally these things, except for one day a week: cheeses, sodas, sugary treats, fried foods, fast foods, these are allowed one day a week. It has been important that they had someone to hold them accountable. They have to write all that they eat every day, then turn it in every week. This is very good, as they have to watch it!
Another part of it is to stay busy. I don't know what your circumstances are, but if you aren't working, and can, get a job, or a part time job. If you are working, then throw yourself into your work, just go crazy with it! Part of the problem with eating sweets, is because of boredom. Work hard at your job, and stay focused one something at home, this is a big deal. Keep your mind occupied and your hands busy!
Start exercising! If you can, join a club, if you can't start walking, at a time that it's good for you. You would not believe the benefits of this walking. It will burn fat, get you outside into the air, nature, you'll feel better about yourself when you begin to exercise, as it will boost your self-esteem, because you're doing something about the problem. It will lower your stress level, because there's something about being outdoors, that helps us take our mind off of our problems. You will tone up, wether it's walking, clubbing, or you can also order dvd's to use at home. Everything is available now from dance, aerobics, kickboxing, tae bo, you could work out at home.
Stop buying these and having them at your house, you can't eat what you don't have handy. I could go on, but I'm thinking this is enough! I hope some of this helps, I hear ya and understand. Think about doing these things, you can kick it, you just have to be ready to do so.

Stop getting doughnuts at the supermarket.

Go to an independant baker and buy a doughnut. There's nothing wrong with a doughnut. It's doughnuts, plural, is the problem.

I don't know how overweight you are and it's none of my business. As of 5 months ago I was up to 250lb and now i'm down to 173lb. There are foods that suppress the apetite such as pickles, lettuce, even drinking water can take away the urge for hunger(snack time) and a lot of it is just plain will power. Just KNOW That no matter what any body else says YOU CAN SUCCEED! Also check out a site called " Allrecipes". They have a lot of healthy recipes for pastries as well as meals. This has been very successfull for my wife and I . Best too You

I used to have a similar problem with potatoes. I ate them all the time..20 lbs later I started to look for alternatives..mashed cauliflower in leui of potatoes, vegetable chips....you should do the same. Try to ween yourself off starting with baked dougnuts instead of fried, eat some sweet fruits while you are at it, then start eating the fruits only..eventually you won't even miss them. If you still crave sweets and you can't eat fruit, try Extra sugar free gum to hold you over!

Some people say that willpower is needed for this. I say that it is won't power you need. Donuts have a lot of sugar in them and you have to promise that you won't have any for a day to get your blood sugar back in line and that you won't have any after that. You know these things. It just has to make the trip from the brain to the arms and legs.

Unitl you change your self-concept, no advice in the world will ever work.
The question is, Who are you? Are you a big, fat loser who eats junk food everyday? Of course not. You must BE the person who is healthier. Simply put, be a healthy person.
What does the healthy person eat?
How often does the healthy person excercise?

Change your view of yourself TODAY!!
