The point is this: protestants have given a lot of bad propaganda to the Spanish Inquisition, whereas the Catholics have not being able to counteract that negative propaganda.
The protestants don't mention that they also had an inquisition that did very much the same or maybe worse than the Spanish one.
Doctor Miguel Servet was burned at the stake by john calvin, in Switzerland. Henry VIII burned people at the stake for "religious" reasons as well.
The stake was frequently used in those times.
One more thing, the secretary of the Spanish Inquisition, Juan Antonio Llorente, burned the archives of the Inquisition, except some papers that he kept in order to "prove" the bad deeds of the Inquisition.
Besides, the Inquisition also judged other people for other reasons. Many things that today would be seen in a civil court, were then seen by the Inquisition.
For all of these reasons, the amount of people judged by the Inquisition has been greatly exaggerated.
One more point. The Inquisition could only impose a religious penalty. Other kinds of penalty were imposed by the king's authorities

The Inquistion as a whole world wide Court
to remove Heresy and The Bible is still alive
and present. The New Antichrist and Bishop of Rome , Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger , now ,
Benedictus Pope XVI , was the President of
the Holy Inquisition in The Vatican , whose
Majestic Palace is still standing there.
Thanks.

You want to bring the Spanish Inquisition back?! The torture and dismemberment of Jews to force them to 'confess' a bogus messiah or die!!!!! Millions, literally were murdered this way. Hitler already brought it back.
Bring it on brutha'! This time we're ready! Especially me.
But some advice: don't go to Israel, we'll cream you.

It has such a bad reputation because it was created by man to force Christ on Jews through torture, coersion, and threat of death (leading to death). This was not God's plan, it was man's plan. Jesus told man to spread the gospel, not to force it on people.

As far as the Jewish people are concerned, it is not their time to understand Christ.

You want to bring back the practice of torturing and killing people because they won'y accept your religious beliefs? I believe Vatican II brought us way beyond that.
