I am just kinda looking for a lil support! I have completly changed the way I eat and have been walking for an hour about 4 days a week. I am not losing much at all though. I have lost 5 pounds in the past two months, and it has held there. I am very excited to have lost that but I want to keep going, but it seems I'm stuck. I was jsut wondering if this had happened to anyone else or if there is something I am doing wrong. I am starting a work out routine with 5 pound weights that I want to do about 3 times a week and I have a belly dance video that I amd also going to start to do as well. Just to keep myself moving!! Because if I stop I know I will go in the wrong direction! But back to my question, is it in my eating. How many calories should I be eating a day. I have no clue how to do the whole calorie thing at all. All i know is that I eat healhy and drink tons of water. I need help?!?!?!

I didn't lose 30 pounds but I did lose 22. I started eating 5 small healthy meals a day. But I started walking on the tread mill every day but the weekend. Walk up hill, you don't have to go real fast, but I would not walk it any slower than a 4 and do that for like 30 minutes. So many people say that you have to have 1200 calories to lose weight. I think it depends on you and how many you have now. People are so different. I had no more than 800 calories a day when I did mine.. I figured up that on a normal basis that I usually had 1200-1400 a day. That was just me. I also drank lots of water.... You can do this, don't let yourself stop.
I think the real key was the excersize, but you gotta feel it.... I am back around my normal consumption a day now and have not gained anything back and it has been over a year now since I lost it.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

Its not how many calories you should be eating, but how many carbs. Carbs are very a heathy source of energy, however will turn into fat if you don't use them. There fore make sure you're only eating carbs (bread, bake potatoes, ect.) a little before you exercise. However that doesn't definetly not mean eat as many carbs as you want before you exercise.

As for only 5 pounds. The start is ALWAYS the hardest part in losing wietht. The only thing I can say is keep doing what your doing, and soon start doing lots of sit-ups. Start out small and work you way up to this. It always has worked well for me.

-100 sit-ups
-50 crunches
-50 sit-ups
-25 crunches
(Do that without stopping, maybe 2 or 3 times a day)

Weight loss is one of the toughest issues women face. We are genetically predisposed to GAIN weight after about age 30. If you do not have children, maintain the same exercise and diet from your 20's, you will still, naturally, gain one to five pounds a year for the rest of your life. It's an old survival mechanism and it got our ancestors through famine and disaster, to survive to repopulate, but we sure don't need it any more! Eat healthy, drink water and keep moving...all good. Going to smaller portions, avoiding fat, sugar and salt...all a little more difficult, but they work. Eat as many veggies as you like, though! That helps. No cheese on them, though. An adult woman needs between 1000 and 1800 calories per day to maintain weight. Losing weight involves burning more calories than you consume, so you have to either eat less or exercise more: the only way to do it. Good luck. Oh, btw, I am 53 and have gained 55 pounds since I was 25...just as I said...a couple a year for 25 years. It didn't disturb me when it was happening, but now I hate it.

I am grossly obese. I was 335 lbs. I went on a program and have lost 55 lbs so far. I maintain a strict 1200 calories a day. no sugars, and excercise by walking 2 miles a day. The secret is the 1200 calories. Humans just do not need as much food as is available in this country. Check into the "Seattle Sutton" program.

yes, lost 30 lbs... Best form of exercise? Running (unless you have knee probs). There are some decent, and healthy weight loss programs out there. If you wish, I can tell you where you're at in regards to body fat, etc. Send me a message, I can try to help you, or at least point you in the right direction. I was in the military for over 8 years, always had to watch what I ate (even with good metabolism)...so I know.

I lost 50 lbs doing Weight Watchers and the Firm. I stopped and gained 30 of it back. :( So now I'm back to doing Weight Watchers, and trying to make myself exercise again.
