Having worked with many Homeless here in America I found out an interesting thing. They like this and are VERY happy and want left alone to be happy. That why they became Homeless. Where I live there many places for them to live and eat! FREE!!! I have actually wanted to do this for 6-12 months just for the fun they have. Heck, one guy I know, he is married now and has a Home and Children. We talked of when he lived in a Box, he was saying how he really missed the good life. He had clothes, blankets for winter and food. Now he says he has, bills, stress and sometimes not as much food! But, because of his Responsibility now as a Husband and Father he knows he can not go back to the "Good Life". ;-)
Now, you will have people who whine and cry about this and say I lie, but, they lie, probably to get you to give them money. True there may be a few that Homeless and can not help this, but, do they really try. I drive all around America and there many places a person can live IF they want too and WILL work!
Maybe someone could start a "Network Charity" to show those where these places are and move them there. Just the Price of a Bus Ticket. But, I doubt that when they are confronted with a Home, Bills, Stress and Work, they may choose for the "Good Life" too.

The simple and sad answer is the Bush Administration does not care about the poor in this country. They figure, these people don't vote, they don't contribute to political campaigns, the country would be better off if they all died tomorrow. Congress just voted against raising the minimum wage claiming it would somehow hurt business. They saw millions of people trying to live on a ridiculous $200 a week and they took a big fat dump on them. It's disgusting. So much vast wealth in this country and there are still people sleeping on streets.
Questions like this really make me wonder why I'm so proud to be an American. Honestly.

some of the homeless don't want it any other way...say they like the freedom
some of the homeless don't know how to solve their problems...there is help in the form of shelters that provide not only a bed and food but help getting a place of their own and work and childcare and support systems. There is help out there...maybe not enough.

Someone just doesn't land on the street and end up homeless. The vast majority of homeless people are homeless due to drugs or alcohol abuse. Everyone is the captain of their own ship.

LMAO why is this in the cooking section? Are you going to get rid of some of them by cooking em?Because everyone don't see homeless people as real people they see them as scum and so forth so they do not give a damn about them they do not care if they die starved or freeze to death. Then there is always homeless shelters which are cramped tight but it is still better than being outside

President Bush deons't help and don't report me because other US people complained to television too. I think he is too attracted and obssesed with other countries, he doesn't realize that his own country is in need of help in different areas. You may not realize but there are more serious problems of needy and homeless and stravation in other countries. Africa have had such poverty now that its their way of lifestyle of death. I am not saying US pepople don't need help but there are more people that need that in foreign countries. But I would say that each poor country should have equal amounts of help and better lifestles. And it is true that there are a lot of homeless especially in New York and they DO need help.

The society is not willing to help to the extent that a difference can be made. Not to mention that some people may actually like the lifestyle, and I'm serious about this. For some it is a matter of freedom. Strange to me, yes, but there it is.
