I have used it myself on a couple different occasions.. for the manic side of being bipolar.. I am interested in seeing the responses to this question.. my only side effect was a great nights sleep with some amazing realistic dreams that I could remember very very well.
but with repeated use I have heard nothing good can come of it.. my local hospital only uses it for either a severe anxiety attack or the up side of bipolad disorder being dangerously too far up..
It is said to be more addictive than heroin and much more difficult to wean yourself off of.. this is the reason doctors and psychiatrists prefer to prescribe it on an 'as needed' basis.
It really knocks you out :) sometimes in a good way.. but there is a hefty price to pay for the long term and consistent use of it.
I have some here on my desk.. I have great respect for the stuff.. it works wonders for me when I need it most.. but I also have great respect for its ability to turn my life into a living hell..
Hopefully this answers your question and can help ya out :)

Depending on the dosage the side effects vary. i take 5 mg and it just keeps me in a calm state. no highs no lows but im just suppose to take it as needed i dont know bout taking it all the time this can be addicting. also u can go to webmd.com and look it up in their search engine.

The main "side affect" is that it is addictive. Try cutting down on it slowly, instead of going off it completely. Cut your pills in half, if you have to.

Talk with a Dr about this.Don't ever stop a med cold turkey, it could have severe side effects then.
