"Then I heard the LORD say to the other men, "Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no pity! Kill them all – old and young, girls and women and little children. But do not touch anyone with the mark. Begin your task right here at the Temple." So they began by killing the seventy leaders. "Defile the Temple!" the LORD commanded. "Fill its courtyards with the bodies of those you kill! Go!" So they went throughout the city and did as they were told." (Ezekiel 9:5-7 NLT)
If even then you remain hostile toward me and refuse to obey, I will inflict you with seven more disasters for your sins. I will release wild animals that will kill your children and destroy your cattle, so your numbers will dwindle and your roads will be deserted. (Leviticus 26:21-22 NLT)
(Moses) stood at the entrance to the camp and shouted, "All of you who are on the LORD's side, come over here and join me." And all the Levites came. He told them, "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Strap on your swords! Go back and forth from one end of the camp to the other, killing even your brothers, friends, and neighbors." The Levites obeyed Moses, and about three thousand people died that day. Then Moses told the Levites, "Today you have been ordained for the service of the LORD, for you obeyed him even though it meant killing your own sons and brothers. Because of this, he will now give you a great blessing." (Exodus 32:26-29 NLT)
"Go up, my warriors, against the land of Merathaim and against the people of Pekod. Yes, march against Babylon, the land of rebels, a land that I will judge! Pursue, kill, and completely destroy them, as I have commanded you," says the LORD. "Let the battle cry be heard in the land, a shout of great destruction". (Jeremiah 50:21-22 NLT)
As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace. If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labor. But if they refuse to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town. When the LORD your God hands it over to you, kill every man in the town. But you may keep for yourselves all the women, children, livestock, and other plunder. You may enjoy the spoils of your enemies that the LORD your God has given you.(Deuteronomy 20:10-14)
and maaannnyyy more if u interesting, but i think i already made a very good point...

You know why do Atheists or heck I can't think of any other spirituality or lack of one that is just so hateful about the bible (or the Qu'ran or Torah, Gitas, or the Sutras or is it just the Christians you hate so? ). HAVE YOU FOLKS EVER NOTICED THE PARTS YOU PICK SPEAK TO YOU MORE THAN US CHRISTIANS? Let go of the anger find something more productive , you ,miss the whole point of Luke, by the way the bible and Jewish writtings are metaforical (like Plato, Socrates etc) literal translations and picking certain phrases out is pointless as was the question but then it's your opinion. I wish you peace

That is because before he brings peace he will bring a sword and Make peace.
The tares will be gathered and burned at the end of the world (Matthew 13:40).
Christ brings a sword to separate out a man from his father, mother, and daughter in law and mother in law (Matthew 10:34-35). Anyone who allows peer pressure within his family to keep him from acquisition of the truth is not worthy of the kingdom.
Any who loves father or mother more than Christ is not worthy of Christ (Matthew 10:37).
"Mine enemies who don't wish that I should rule over them, bring them here and slaughter them in front of me" (Luke 19:27). Yes, those who are an enemy to Christ and do not accept his rule over them -- they don't really have a future. They will be slaughtered unless they repent. This happens after Christ's return to this planet (Revelation 19:11-16).

You can't take thing out of context out of what Christ said because He made a lot of examples in looong form. Like when He was making the point that you make consciouss decisions. He said if you think any of your body parts do things on their own, get rid of the body part. There have been some people who actually took their own eye out because they looked at a girl or something... ok, they were on drugs too. There were a few people though, who cut one of their hands off. They said Jesus told them to do it. I don't think He meant for them to cut their hands off. He was making a point.
I also think when He says the word, 'disciple' he's talking about people of the cloth (priests, preachers and so forth) not followers or all Christians. He said the greatest commandment is to love one another... not hate everyone.
The fire that He's talking about is the Faith.
I don't think I've ever read that last one.

Good point.
Except for a few examples.
The fire is the Spirit of God. God is a consuming fire but to those who love Him it's comforting.
Heb 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.
The word "hate" Luke14:26 "miseoÌ" in Greek means (love less).
Christ's enemies were the so-called Jews who were really of the synagogue of Satan. A deep subject.
It's apparent that you are unlearned in God's Word.
It's also very clear that you don't have eyes that see or ears that hear.
Please go to another category.

What you have hit upon is that God doesn't fit into the box of people's imagination. For instance people say that "if God is love then how can He send people to hell?"
What they are doing is focusing on one aspect of the divine nature to the exclusion of other aspects. God is also Holy and Righteous and He hates sin. That doesn't negate his love because love wants what is best for others and sin is the antithesis of that.
God is patient and long suffering, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance and a knowledge of the truth. But He also plans on restoring his creation to it's pristine state before sin entered into it. That's why in love He warns men but if his warnings were just so much hot air then that would make Him a liar.
Jesus came the first time as a suffering servant but when time has finally run out He will come again as a righteous judge and a conquering King!
Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; 18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. 20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Indeed; Peace with God is "through Jesus->Christ":
Jesus: born under the law, and of woman
(ye are not under the law, but under grace)
Christ: the end of the law, and of transgression
(where no law, there is no transgression)
Jesus: "division" and not peace
(mark and avoid them which cause division)
Christ: "peace" and not division
(he is our peace, who hath abolished the law)
It's "allegory" and allegoric "mystery" to solve.
Jesus plays two parts(sons) in John 5,
which notably has two resurrections,
one unto damnation, one unto life.
Jesus: Law vs Grace
Christ: Grace void of Law
Hence we are called the body of "Christ".
To wit: that God was in "Christ" reconciling the world.
The "grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Perhaps the problem is your definition of peace. Jesus did claim to be the Prince of Peace.
