why israel and palestine are enemy? i dont know the history and wish to know

When a question like this is asked on a forum like this and then I read some of the frankly stupid answers I really do fear for the world that my children are growing up in.
How can people who are so dense really afford computers?
Aguy has got it pretty much right. Palestine was not a country, it was a region within which over the last 2000 years and more has resided several peoples including the Jews and Palestiniant Arabs.
The Jews were driven out over the years as part of the global persecution which has happened to that race and the territory has been variously ruled by whichever superpower has been charging through at the time.
The Roman empire, the Crusaders, the Ottoman empire, and the British Empire were just some of the users of this land.
After WW2 presecuted jews from all over Europe including the concentration camp survivors and millions from Russia headed back to re-claim a homeland in the area known as Palestine, which at the time was under British administration.
They even fought a brief terrorist campaign against the British Army.
In 1947 the international community agreed to recognise the state of Israel as a home for all the worlds displaced jews, and in fairness to them they set about turning a barren and desolate place into the vibrant place it is today.
Ever since then every neighbouring country, all of which were bigger and more powerful have tried to invade and eliminate Israel, and every time Israel has won.
A different tactic was then employed in winding the regional arab population up under various terrorist organisations, some of which were funded by Libya and others by Iran.
Over the years this has caused such a rift between the Israelis and the Palestinians with horrific suicide bomb attacks on Israeli civilians, that the way the Israeli army now treat the Palestinians is terrible and brutal.
Hence you now have a political, economic and military situation which has no easy or glib answers.

Iraq is occupying the whole of Palestine for the last 60 years. The Land of Israel was actually Palestinian land. Now they are trying to eleminate them from the left over pockets of Jeruselem and Gaza strip as well. They have been carrying out genocide, bulldozing their houses and building illegal colonies in the so called occupied territories. US has all along been backing this exercise. This is one of the chief reasons why Muslims were angry with the US before Invading Iraq for the second time. The first time... most of the regimes and some people were at least with America. Not this time. This time the war is an imposition and will have long term repurcussions for Americans all over the world.

Tinkerbell, why don't you go back to watching the Simple Life marathon and leave the history to the adults. There is, and has never been, a state/nation/country known as Palestine, so your wrong about that. Furthermore, the 6-Day War was fought when Israel pre-emptively attacked EGYPT because of Egypt's military posturing and blockading of Israeli shipping. Then Jordan attacked Israel unprovoked and Israel defended itself. Palestine isn't even a country, let alone the subject of an Israeli attack in 1967.

agree that israel has attacked palestine and is killing the poor people and kinds and the old ones. why? because israel wnats to take palestine and keep away the palestinians frome their country. israel has even atomic bombs!

'Cos after the WW2 UN decided to create two states in Palestine:Palestine and Israel.But in 1967 Israel attacked Palestine and took that land to.
