If they share the road, they need to be licensed and insured. Just like four-wheeled vehicles. License, insurance, registration, etc. It's always the cars drivers at fault when an accident occurs, but sometimes, it's the bicyclists fault. They dart into traffic without looking, especially kids. And, as sad as that is, some bicyclists should be held responsible. Does anyone else agree? Thank you.

I don't believe that licensing, registration or insurance are going to do any good. The potential for liability from cyclists just doesn't warrant it. The cyclist almost always loses when involved with a motor vehicle; that should be enough to keep them attentive and alert.

Bicyclists have to observe the rules of the road just like any other vehicle operator does. I got a speeding ticket when I was 12 and my son got one for running a red light on a bicycle when he was 20. Neither of us had licenses at the time of our citations, but that didn't make any difference.

definite. different than the place explicitly stated interior the regulation, bicyclists are concern to the precise comparable regulations as motorists. maximum states purely have some rules that are diverse. i'm no longer conscious of any that have a various regulation for rushing for bicyclists. of direction, lots of the time, maximum bicyclists bodily won't be in a position to exceed the fee shrink. the two the shrink must be strangely low or the bicyclist must be strangely rapid or on a steep down hill or something to be certain that them to interrupt the shrink.

As a cyclist, I sympathize without agreeing about the insurance and license. You're right. Very many cyclists don't seem to believe things like traffic lights apply to them or that other road users have a right to have their intentions indicated with hand signals. They're an embarrassment. I almost feel like apologizing, but they're not me.

The problem I have is that bicyclists do not stop for red lights or stop signs. So I swing wide to pass them once, then have to do it again and again because I stop when I'm supposed to and they go through the intersection and then I have to pass them again. But If, God forbid,I hit one, then it's somehow my fault. I'm happy to share the road with bicycles, but they should be ticketed when they fail to follow the signs of the road.

if a bicyclist pulls out in front of a car, it's their fault, not the car driver's. bicyclists are expected to abide by the same driving laws that car drivers are if they are using the road.
