Do you think a lot of people are having kids today for the wrong reasons? (Pressure from family...etc.)

yepp, i definitely think so...i think that a lot of people aren't prepared and they just want kids because its the traditional thing to do....before you have kids, you should really consider if you really want to take care of them with the pros and cons, etc....unfortunately, not a lot of people do...at the end, they get tired of their kids....and who is suffering for all of this? the kids....

People have been having children for "the wrong reasons" for years... it's nothing new. Family pressure, pressure from partner, bio clock ticking (usually way sooner than it really is), because they want someone/something to love them unconditionally, because they think it will be "fun", because their friends are doing it, because they want to trap a guy, because it will save their marriage, because they think it will make them an adult... lots of reasons that are all a crock.

yes! i did this!! after being married for almost 3 years everyone started asking ''where's the babies" although we where wanting to really wait for another year we went ahead and had a child. he's 3 now ..i love him to death wouldn't trade him for the world but I would have liked to have done it at our own time instead of being pressured into having one then...kids puts a strain on a relationship and they tie you down...if your not ready for that...just don't do it! now our son is getting to an age where he can travel some with out al the whinning and crying and he sleeps thur the night...we are not going to have any more althoughwe are hearing it from all sides that he needs a play mate....don't give in!

I think in reality women get pregnant because they want to there are so many ways of preventing pregnancies! Later on they might say it was a wrong reason because they find out it wasn't as easy or not what they were expecting but it was a choice they made.

Yes, I was pregnant at 17 just to get out of my parents house. What a mistake that was. Well anyways just look at society today no one can say that it is getting any better just worse. Some people are getting pregnant just to feel loved by someone and others for defiance reasons.

I think people are having kids because they choose to have intimate relationships before they're into a committed relationship (marriage). Girls sense that they can feel accepted, loved, and that the government will give them financial security...all just for having a baby.
