Chevrolet's superior ability to build cars????????????????
Thats a shocker.... It's only taken Corvette 12 years or more to catch the Viper. Now where is that superior ability?? GM is still lost in the fifties.

If it's a C6 Z06 vs a Viper, the Viper will get that a$$ whooped all the way around- the Z06 has about a .4 advantage 1/4 mile and would continue to pull the Viper, even on top end (the Z06 has a limited top speed of 198 mph), it's no contest really.
Now if it's a C6 Z51 Vette or any other Vette (besides the new Z06), then the Viper's gonna walk the dog on it.

Corvette is geared to be fast from 0-100mph.
The Viper is geared for high top end speed of 160mph.
That said the answer is clear for only a 1/4 mile....the Vette.
Now the real mind blower is....what will win:
an old 1970's style Vette
or
modern day Vette

The viper used to be the quickest and it will still hold its own against everything except vettes utilizing the LS7 "427 cu. in. small block" The LS7 is the one and only reason that corvette caught up to the viper. As for putting power to the ground, both cars do that very effectively, with little need for suspension mods. I have seen STOCK LS7 vettes running MT drag radials, and cutting 10.7s at the strip. Viper against C6, viper wins.......Viper against LS7 Z06.........vette kicks A$$!!!!! Hope this helps

Depends on the year and model, up until 2006 the viper was quicker than any factory vette. But for 2006 the Z06 vette is actually faster.

Many Tests in Car & Driver show that the Vette is quicker in the 1/4 mile. The Z06 in particular. The reason the Vette is quicker is the ability to put power to the ground...
And Chevrolet's superior ability to design & build cars!! :)

The new vette Z06 can pretty much out run every thing except the Ferrari enzo.

i wouldn't care, as long as it got me there in a little style and class, so i'd go for the corvette. ox blood in color and a seat so large my g/f could.... well you get the picture.
