The best one I've found is Deet, but I've heard good things about Bite Blocker:

We all know that one person who comes home from the camping trip without a single bug bite. Perhaps they advise their unlucky mates to eat more garlic, or fewer bananas.

But it may be that these folks are born with a scent that keeps mosquitoes and other biting insects away. Recent research has isolated chemicals emitted by "bug-proof" individuals, which appear to counteract the odors that hungry bloodsuckers generally home in on.

The study showed "unequivocally that there are compounds that interfere with the normal attraction that mosquitoes have towards humans," said John Pickett from Rothamsted Research in England.

Deet is the active ingredient that works the best. Look for it in Muskol and Watkins mosquito repellant. Both are very effective preparations.

Probably any product with DEET in it is the best. It may not be the most healthy, however. For a single event, I would recommend a product with DEET in it. It will also repel chiggers, gnats, ticks and most everything else :)

A full coverage scuba suit would be the only complete protection . Plus you'll look cool with the big fins flopping as you walk .

Avon's skin so soft. It repels deer ticks, too. Comes in aerosol or lotion, even has sun screen if you need it. I use it ever night , so I can go in my yard, and not be a feeder.
